Hi Guys,

Finally i get the Vaus controller to play Arkanoid, but it has a odd behavior when a I try to use.
First the potentiometer was not good, so i fix them clean and re-soldering.
But when i start to play and if I need to press the button, the screen blinking each time that i press the button.
Once i press, the screen turn black and go back, this is bothering when i get the power up that allow to fire.
Anyone got this or saw this problem?
I'm doubt because in the moment i have just a Everdrive N8 with arkanoid inside, the problem can be the flashcart or the button? Thank you.

Arkanoid works fine on my Everdrive. It got to be something wrong with the paddle. Check that the button isn't short-circuiting something it shouldn't.

Try a different region's copy of Arkanoid matching the Vaus you have. I saw that behavior using a Japanese Vaus on US Arkanoid.

Hmm are you sure? I just tested NES Arkanoid with my Famicom paddle (the "NEW" Arkanoid II version) on my Everdrive and it didn't show any blinking, it just ignores the paddle button since it expects the NES paddle (can't even start the game as I need to press the paddle's button to do that).

On NES Arkanoid you need to plug the paddle into controller port 2 and a standard controller in port 1 (for navigating menus).

The Famicom paddle works identically to the NES one (and the MSX one) only with a different wire which connects to the expansion port. It just connects to a different couple of pins not available in the NES controller ports which is why they had to reprogram NES Arkanoid to use pins which are available there.
So the two versions looks for the same paddle controller, just on different pins, and the two versions of Arkanoid should probably just ignore the other set of pins (but I guess it's possible some leftover code could be messing things up).

On a related note, with the "NEW" paddle you can daisy-chain a second Famicom paddle and this second paddle will end up using the same pins as the NES paddle do in controller port 2. Meaning it should in theory be possible to play NES Arkanoid with the daisy-chained Famicom paddle. I've never tried this though as I've only got one paddle.

The screen blinking when you press buttons sounds like a typical case of incorrect wiring to me though.
