So I'm off to Stuttgart tomorrow to take level 1 of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)
That means 9 hours and 30 minutes of train rides in total.  :o I wonder how long my DS's  and mp3 player's batteries will last.  :D

Please wish me luck. The pass rate of examinees taking the test outside of Japan is under 30%.  :P I imagine it's quite hard.

Did anyone else attempt that test? Also level 1 or lower difficulty?

Wow the other day I was thinking about the JLPT and thinking 'maybe manuel has taken it... I'll ask him how it is later' and then you post about it!

Best luck to you, man. You have the whole FW community on your side ;D!

manuel

Thanks. ;D

I really have to sleep now, although I'm not sleepy at all. But I have to get up at around 5a.m., when it's so cozy and warm in bed.  :'(

I'll tell you guys how it was and maybe post some pics from Stuttgart. I have never been there yet. :)

Man was that a long day yesterday. Got up at 5a.m., onto the train at 7. Out of the train around 12. Test from 1p.m. to 5:40. Train ride home with a lot of delay, from 8:40p.m. to 1:20a.m. Reached home around 2a.m.

The test was quite hard this time.  >:( A lot harder that the test from 2002 and 2003 (I bought those for training purposes)
I hope I made enough points. I will know in March.

even though its late, good luck manuel! I hope you do great!

I know you're in Japan now, manuel, but how did you do on the test, anyway?

Hope you will make that, Manuel.
My wife is japanese, i'm living in Japan too, but I think I even can't get the easiest one (level 4?), lol.
I never studied any language, just learned some with friends internet and tv shows, I think it's time to get a little more serious and start to study :-[

Found this thread again!

Well, 2007 I failed with 276 out of 400 points. I needed 4 more to pass.  :-\
Maybe the train ride was too much of a stress.

In December 2008 I took the test in Japan and got the results in today.
Passed with quite good 342 points of a total 400. That's about 86%.  :D

Yay!!

Congrats, man!  I remember my room mate complaining about how difficult the JLPT tests are, and he was taking the easier levels.
