Why's it bizarre and hilarious?

It's a non-conventional platformer.  The enemies don't make sense, some of your attacks are pointless, shops sell you items that you hurt you.  I imagine the dialog is weird, too.  The rom is worth checking out (although I may start looking for the cart, soon).

Played SMB2j, Smash Ping Pong, Bubble Bobble and Doki Doki Panic today. Dang, it was great to have some time to play Famicom games. I've been way too busy lately.
