Previously, I hadn't done anything more than test my Eggerland disk when I got it.  I was in the middle of LOLO 3 when I initially received it.  Someone recently mentioned LOLO games, so I finally gave it a proper play.

I expected it to be even simpler (in features) than LOLO 1 on the NES.  However, unlike any of the other LOLO games I've played (1-3 on the NES), Eggerland is like those games mixed with Legend of Zelda 1.  The screen shift is the same as LoZ and you can go in all four directions to get to another puzzle room.  And what I particularly like about that feature is that some of the puzzle rooms can only be completed by coming in through the right door (and you can walk out of a room to reset a puzzle as opposed to killing yourself).  Eggerland also has a save feature, which is certainly a plus after LOLO 3.  The puzzles don't have to be completed in a 100% specific order , so if you get bored with one, there are others to find, and some rooms create a door that leads to a room with a special key of some sort.  I only just started with it for the most part, so I'm not sure about everything, but it was interesting for me to see that Eggerland offered a fancy feature when I expected less.

Bramsworth

Earthworm Jim 2. Forget if the version I have is the one considered the best port or not. It's hard to beat though :p

Eggerland has yet again surprised me...  I got to a point in a puzzle where it seemed impossible, then noticed the bottom right corner had the snake thing under a "?" so I realized that had something to do with it.  For whatever reason, I decided to block it in on all 4 sides to see if that would work, and then the whole screen went crazy and an odd Lolo image showed up that allowed a green Lolo double to walk anywhere on the screen and teleport to that location.

Just odd to me that Lolo 1 actually seems to be stripped down compared to Eggerland when I expected the opposite (Eggerland is older).

I definitely recommend you do that.  The best way I can describe the difference is Eggerland is to Lolo 1-3 what SMB3 is to SMB1.  There are a lot more special things you can do in Eggerland, and I think it may even have some of the best puzzles.

To note a couple more special features I've found in Eggerland that the Lolo games don't have...  in Eggerland you can get a magnet that lets you pull emerald framers from across the room, and I recently found in another puzzle that I was able to shoot an enemy and place their ball in the lava to turn the lava into sand that could be walked on (reminded me of draining the lakes in LoZ).

EDIT:  This eBay store has a bunch of sealed FDS Eggerland games at a great price right now (at this price, it would be worth getting it now during the sale).  http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Nintendo-Famicom-Disk-System-EGGER-LAND_W0QQitemZ220440475433QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item335346b729

Apparently there is a similar sequel on cartridge, but I don't see one on eBay.  If someone is selling one, or knows if it is rare/expensive, then please let me know.  (I also read about a disk writer exclusive game, but it was described as simple and short [how I would describe Lolo 1).

Lolo 1 is some of Lolo's Japanese games mashed into 1.
