Still playing Eggerland...  I'm stuck on a room I can't figure out (maybe I'll post a photo of it if anyone knows the game [just knowing how to work NES Lolo puzzles won't help unfortunately...I don't think it can be figured out by just looking at it, which makes the particular room a bit of a flaw IMO unless there's some clue I'm missing]).

I finally found the map though (after discovering that the raft that popped up in a level I beat a ways back would let me float up to another puzzle room).  I've also found another likeness to Zelda (sometimes secret doors will be revealed by pushing a specific block after a puzzle is completed [found at least two like that so far after discovering that in one room with a ridiculously easy puzzle and a bunch of blocks...figured there had to be something else]).

Guess I'll go take a pic of it incase anyone can help...

EDIT:  Here's the room (the bottom right is noting that it involves one or all of the boxes in some way, and I've moved them in all sorts of locations, and can't figure out what the heck to do... :(   I expect that once I figure out the trick, one of the things that lets Lolo teleport anywhere will pop up so I can get the key.

I had wondered if the arrow shape on the left side of the screen was telling me something, but it hasn't done me any good yet.

That's no arrow shape.
The whole formation is the Japanese character "kami" 神 = "god".

Thanks Manuel, that's interesting to know  ;D

Though I went ahead and looked up a walkthrough page that got me to a solution...that I'd already tried on my own in some form several times (though I expect I got them there after collecting the hearts).

This is what I found online: "Collecting the Heart Frames from this stage presents little to no challenge. The trick is to discover the method that will allow you to reach the chest. As the screen indicates, it has something to do with the Emerald Frames. To activate the appearance of the transparent Lolo that will appear and allow you to walk through the walls, you must make sure that all four Emerald Frames are in their original position before you collect the very last Heart Frame. As long as each Emerald Frame is in its original position, the transparent Lolo will appear. "

Guess I'll try it next time I have a chance to play it  :P  I hate that I had to look up an answer (I've spent a while on some of the puzzles).

EDIT:  Having looked up the Kami symbol, I see that that was a clue to figuring it out...  to complete the symbol, the framers have to be in the original positions.  Would have been easier to fiddle with variations on that had I known it were a symbol (I need to learn Japanese =P).    I expect someone that knows Japanese would have figured it out fairly quickly, so I suppose it's no longer a flawed level design  :D  (if it were a completely random looking solution, I wouldn't have been happy with it).

Rockman 3.  I can barely get any further in it than when I first got my Famicom.  Which was basically beating one stage if I was lucky. :(
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Just beat Eggerland.  The best music tracks are saved for the end, but you do get several different tracks throughout the game, and the sound quality seems to be beyond NES quality several times.  The ending and ridiculous boss battle are great too.  Surprisingly some of the easiest rooms in the game were the final rooms, but you had to collect all of the guardians to be able to complete certain rooms (they'd give super speed [making for a very cool rapid dash through a bunch of Gols], infinite shots, and the ability to chop one tree down).

Having only been familiar with Lolo 1,2,3 on the NES, this game continued to amaze me with it's special features from beginning to end.  There was always something new being thrown in (I even think invincibility and the magnet ability were used only once, but would have liked to have seen more of the magnet one).

They call the NES Lolo games "adventures" but Eggerland truly has the adventure aspect.  Quite unexpectedly, one of the best games I've ever played, though I suppose now that I've done the puzzles, there isn't much replay value.
