Didn't wanna make a new thread for this but on http://famicomworld.com/workshop/articles/buying-pirated-carts/ , I would suggest spacing out the image of the cartridges to better fit the article. :)  Great article though.  Glad to see some new stuff in the works.  I was kinda disappointed that you guys let go of the retro look on the main site.  The Joystix font looked pretty cool on the pages.

We can't arbitrarily space out the images on the right column, sorry.

The new site looks really nice. Good job!

Thanks guys. We appreciate the comments and suggestions. We do our best for this being a fan-based, member-supported, volunteer-run gaming site.

I noticed a few posts were deleted in the other suggestion thread, so I guess I'll post here? ???

Uhh, anyway, I was wondering why we can't upload .BMP files as attacments to post, but can upload most other types of pictures.

Because BMP files are huge and uncompressed.  Use a PNG instead (or a JPG if it's not pixel art).

I'm getting a lot of 404 errors on the main page. I can still access the navigation bar up top but all of the blog posts are missing. Maybe it's just me though. Might need to reset my cookies or some such nonsense.

UglyJoe

What's the URL of the page that's giving you the 404 page?

PatMan33

http://www.famicomworld.com/index2.htm

The "old" bookmark, so to speak. I guess I should update that... eh? :D

UglyJoe

Oh, haha.  Yeah.  Actually, thanks for mentioning that.  I'll set up a redirect so that anyone else who's bookmarked that won't get the 404 page.

PatMan33

Cool beans! Everything works now. :)

You guys are doing a great job! Thanks!

I don't have the newest technology, and still in 2009 do my computing with an 800x600 screen. With your new homepage, which is otherwise awesome, It cuts off a little. I have tried IE, Firefox, and Opera. Any possible way you guys could like, look into this?
Hey people, TRG still exists. Come join the meh-ness.

It was designed for 1024x768 or greater, so we're aware that it cuts off at 800x600.  There's not much I can do about it.  Even if I made the left column shrink at lower resolutions, any images that are in the column would not shrink along with it (and would end up overlapping the right column).

I'll look into fixing the nav bar, since I wasn't aware that it got pushed off the left side of the screen like that.  If your browser supports zooming, you could zoom out a few levels (although, running at 800x600, I'm assuming you're hard-of-sight, which makes this a non-option for you).

:-\

update: the nav bar should display properly now in all browsers at 800x600.

update2: it may be more feasible than I previously thought.  I'll let you know in a couple of days if I can come up with something.

would you consider changing the white background?  It looks generic and hurts my square eyes :)

Sorry for neglecting your question.  I'm doubtful we'll change the background, but what did you have in mind exactly?

Love the new look on the front page. It really flows nicely. And thanks for the link! :D
