Yeah it was indeed awesome. I'm still waiting for Kid Icarus though!

I'm waiting for another F-Zero, and another EarthBound.

Punch Out was announced the same day the DSi was - but I didn't expect it to be out as soon as they're now saying.

I hope it's good and not just a waggle port, I'm a big evangeliser for the Wii but I'm starting to tail off with recent lack of good games.
Best game that is coming out soon I played was the beach edition of wii sports with the motion plus, it really works exactly as you'd hope it to.

What's motion plus?  Also, I doubt they'll make another EarthBound anytime soon..

Earthbound has a few legal issues.

Motion plus is a little extra that plugs into the wiimote, to give it better tracking.  Basically, it means what you do with the remote is mirrored exactly on the screen and I can tell you first hand that it really works.

It's what the wii should've been from the start really, but it will be great for red steel 2 - as swordfighting will be like VR if that makes sense.  Here's a vid:

Can you use it with all of the Wii games?  Or are there specially marked ones for it?  Either way, you're right, it should've been like this from the beginning, and it's cool :P

no only newly made games, as it's new hardware effectively.  There's a chance, a small chance the 'new play control' gamecube remakes may utilise it to some effect - but I doubt it, since they were made with the GC stick in mind, it's pretty easy to translate those controls straight into waggle, you wouldn't need anything else.

Nice!  I wonder if they had to remove some of the more offensive racial stereotypes from the original.

Alright, they had Punch-Out!! at GDC and there is a video showing how it plays.

Take a look! ... and remember that there still may be a chance that "classic" controls included.

**EDIT**
WOO! Good news!

According to this preview, Punch-Out!! for the Wii has both motion controls (that also include the balance board) and classic controls. :D

Y know what I hate? much people said nintendo maked too much games says nintendo... They say thats why they dont make much games anymore... I actually believe that. Everybody was always saying they milked out their franchises but WTF? They make always good games so just shut up! Look to final fantasy THATS milking.

PatMan33

Agreed. Nintendo is usually pretty good with their franchises.

I can't even look at Final Fantasy VII anymore without cringing and it's one of my favorite games!

japanfreak

Jep, but I do believe them. Of course you have some bad mario games but those are made by other companies. Still, even much third party games are really good, like mario golf... or was that second party?

manuel

The new Punch Out vid looks really nice.
I'd like to try it myself to see how accurate the controls are.

PatMan33

Is anyone else gonna just skip over the motion controls entirely? The controls were the major selling point for me... if they didn't include a classic control scheme I wasn't going to buy.
