I love words, and love quotes...just curious if anyone's got something particularly insightful. I keep a doc with a bunch of quotes -- the most beautiful, meaningful phrases and sentences I've come across. Here's one I recently found while reading poetry:

some like it shot
and some like it hung
and some like it in the two
nine months young

                 -- e.e. cummings

133MHz

I also have a text file on My Documents folder with a bunch of quotes, which I use on my personal message on MSN.

I wanted to put some of them, but I can't make up my mind and I don't want to copy-paste them all here. I'll try to select a bunch of them later ::)

While I wait...another one:

Tell me not how great your project is, the civil liberation of the world, its conversion into a Christian church, the establishment of public education, cleaner diet, a new division of labor and of land, laws of love for laws of property; -- I say to you plainly there is no end to which your practical faculty can aim, so sacred or so large, that, if pursued for itself, will not at last become carrion and an offence to the nostril. The imaginative faculty of the soul must be fed with objects immense and eternal. Your end should be one inapprehensible to the senses: then will it be a god always approached, -- never touched; always giving health.  --Ralph Waldo Emerson

There's no greater thinker, imo.

Here's my favorite Frost:

So was I once myself a swinger of birches.
And so I dream of going back to be.

I don't care if I fall as long as someone else picks up my gun and keeps on shooting.

Guevara, eh...Sartre has a nice interpretation of armed uprising:

...this irrepressible violence is neither sound and fury, nor the resurrection of savage instincts,
nor even the effects of resentment: it is man recreating himself.

All truth passes through three stages
     • First it is ridiculed
     • Then it is violently opposed
     • Finally, it as accepted as self-evident.
