So are we still allowed to play the game?  Or is it strictly the poll now?

First time that I've been called pathetic by a 13 year old. Nice.  ::)

nintendodork

I also must say I never played it on the Famicom, only on an emulator with the keyboard. That's a hell of a lot harder that with a good Famicom controller I believe...

The game is over. It's now a poll.
You can write a petition to Ugly Joe to start another game perhaps.  ;)

nintendodork

Haha I think I'm in a state of shock...I've never met, talked to, or heard of a person with a Famicom/NES who hasn't played Donkey Kong on it.... :-\ Kinda sad actually... :'(

If you really wanna play it with an NES or Famicom dogbone controller...you could get a USB adapter for one of them from the internet...mosy likely Retrozone.  That's where I got mine ;D

Now you have.
You can achieve something new every day.

I actually did play Donkey Kong on the German version of Game & Watch soon after it was out. That was long before you were born. Does that count?

I want Donkey Kong for the FC of course, but haven't come across a CIB Donkey Kong with the good condition and price I am imagining.

Play continues until two carts are left. The best out of these last two carts will be decided in a poll.

Please read the game rules next time.

You know what manuel?  Sure...the G&W counts...it's the same gameplay anyway... ::)

I have a Donkey Kong G&W...and I must say...they can keep a battery going :P

LOL!

btw Manuel do you have any awesome German games you wanna sell me? Ice liebe alles was Deutsch. :)

manuel

I was too young when I had it. I so wish that I still got it, but I guess I lost it somewhere.  :'(

I'll beat it as soon as I get it on the Famicom.
I still need to find it for around 1000-1500Yen CIB. Most stores ask 3000 Yen or more. That's a big fat no thanks from me.

.... thinking a bit more, I also played it inside Donkey Kong 64 on that arcade machine and when I'm not wrong I might even have beaten it in there, because I got coins from it.

Hmm... most German games from back then are exactly like the American versions. Most weren't even translated into German. I don't think I have anything too special.  :-[

Another thing is, I left most of my stuff behind in Germany and don't have access to it atm.

Why is CIB Donkey Kong so much more rare for the Famicom then it is the NES?

CIB Famicom------> http://cgi.ebay.com/FAMICOM-NES-DONKEY-KONG-NINTENDO-JAPAN-Boxed_W0QQitemZ360109081882QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

CIB NES Classics-----------> http://cgi.ebay.com/Donkey-Kong-Classics-NES-Mario-DK-CIB-box-manual_W0QQitemZ380074601005QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item380074601005&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A1|293%3A1|294%3A50

But then again for the ACTUAL Donkey Kong on NES --------------> http://cgi.ebay.com/NES-Donkey-Kong-Complete-CIB-Rare-Black-Box-Near-Mint_W0QQitemZ300279564554QQcmdZViewItemQQptZVideo_Games_Games?hash=item300279564554&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1205|66%3A2|65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318|301%3A0|293%3A1|294%3A50

I'm really interested in German language NES games, but there doesn't seem to be much of them. Were the manuals and/or boxes in German? If so I'll have to track down a CIB German Super Mario Bros. 3.

Yay, thanks 133MHz.  ;D
I'd really love to get it CIB.

@son_ov_hades : Yes, most German games have manuals and boxes in German.
