...Okay, maybe not an entire genre... But rockman beats mario in the msuic department badly.

That's not a genre, it's just people covering or writing songs about Rockman. Oh and those covers with vocals going right over the melody is stupid as hell. I agree the Rockman music is great, but Mario music is just as good IMO. SMB3 is so much more diverse in terms of level design and game play though, ans there is just a lot more to SMB3.

I'd play all those games except Contra (hint hint) for a while...Rockman is just damn hard
I'd never played a Rockman/Megaman game until I got my Famicom w/ Rockman 3..and I can't beat any of the bosses
