honest they're nothing exciting, just giant DS cards with a number on, you're not missing out on anything, they're not fun to look at like nes / fami protos as they're effectively just giant R4 cards.

let me explain this, they're official Nintendo flashcarts that are given out to customers.  People pitching crappy DS games will put the game code on an ftp, then it's downloaded onto these cards via a DS station (which is a DS wired to a dev box).

So, they don't come pre-loaded, they're given out to publishers as a resource to use when developing DS games, I'd guess any publisher would have 50 or so at least.

The one I had was loaded with a whole bunch of crappy retro games.  They're all marked so that's probably why they don't turn up on auction sites etc.  I can't find a single pic of the cart or station online but I imagine these will be popping up on forums for sale soon by pissed off testers.

They sounds pretty darn cool to me.  I would love to have some.  Can you get some without getting in trouble?

lol no chance I'm afraid, but I'll try and take a snap or something if I can.  It's nothing exciting but they will no doubt become popular when DS dev kits begin showing up for sale here and there - have you seen them?  They look like a DS lite with a BIG cord coming from the cart slot that links up to what looks like a mini dolphin dev kit.   They're light enough to be portable still lol.

They're used for capturing DS screens for online press and stuff, they have SD slots amongst other things.  Testers use them but I've not come across them much as I don't work in testing or anything.  Like I said, I'll try and take a snap (they're ugly) - I can't find a single thing about them anywhere.
