Opened up my dad's old external hard drive he lost the power cable to, found an 80GB IDE drive, and installed it into my PC.

Got out the car battery and inverter once again. Massive blackout in Chile, the power is out in almost every part of the country, the main electric backbone failed and the cause is unknown as of now, and with such a massive failure there's no way to know when the power will come back.

I have the Internets thanks to my laptop and the modem/router combo plugged into the UPS. The car battery powers the lights and a small TV for news.

Finally got around to fixing my computer after my brother diagnosed it.  Whatever it was, he said if I reinstalled the OS, everything would be fine, so I did, and it was.  I just finished putting all my crap back on the computer, and now I'm reinstalling everything.    I'm just glad I finally have my computer instead having to share my dad's with him.
