Has anyone been able to use Action Replay on the DSi?  I can't get mine to work with it.

Nintendo probably thought of that.  Wait until Datel releases a new version.

I would just like to say a few things about the DSi

WarioWare: Snapped! isn't a great game...it's very short...and you can only play 3 of the 4 challenges if you have one person, and it's sort of hard to start, because, apparently, I blend in too much with my white background in order to get the camera calibrated correctly..so that sucks...

And Bird and Beans is, indeed, both of the Pyoro games..except it feels like they upped the difficulty from when it was on the first WarioWare game, as I can't even get the CPU high score.

Also, while I'm editing this post, I might as well include a distorted picture of myself.... I'm tempted to make my own thread for this

Oh, and the microphone is GREAT!!  I can't stress enough how great the sound quality on the DSi is, and how you don't have to put the microphone directly in front of your mouth for it to pick up ANY sound!

All in all, I'm happy I got this instead of another DS lite, even if the launch DSi Ware games aren't that great, they will make better ones.  I recommend it

It plays much more like an EyeToy game than a WarioWare title.  I thought it was brilliant, though.  I mean, setting the DSi on a table and sitting back far enough that you and your arms/hands are in view of the camera -- I never would have thought to use the camera that way.  Instead of a gimmicky "we put your face onto a game texture", they set it up so that you can control the game by moving your hands around in the air.  For a handheld system, that's amazing.

As far as the actual game part of it, it's really more about seeing the pictures it took of you while playing than actually playing.  The snapshots are classic.  Calibration wasn't too big of a deal to me except for the Jimmy stages (for some reason...).  The Kat & Anna stages require two people (also a great idea!), but I'm a loser with no friends so I couldn't play them.

So, yeah, as a WarioWare game, it's a letdown.  I think, though, that it maintains the tradition of using a simple piece of hardware in ways that no one else thinks of using them (ala Twisted! and the tilt-sensor and Touched! with the touchscreen and microphone).

Hmm...you're right.  I like the games, but they aren't anywhere close to a WarioWare standard.  I haven't been able to play the Jimmy stage yet, because it couldn't calibrate my background, even though it was the same as when I played Wario and Mona's...
I have one more complaint...

No 9-Volt!!  I was hoping for some classic gaming action here, but nope :P  It would have been cool to have a game where you had to, like, hit the Goombas out of Mario's way for example.  It would have made me laugh.  The snapshot movie thing took care of that though, I liked the frames they put over your pictures to make them look like you were doing something different.  It's a very unique game...just not WarioWare unique.

No one told me the new WarioWare needed two people.

I don't think I'm going to get it now.  ND, what DSI games would you recommend I get?

Well, WarioWare doesn't require 2 people for the whole thing, it`s just for 1 game.  You can play the other 3 by yourself.  As for recommendations, the only things I bought were WarioWare and Bird and Beans...which I both recommend.  B&B reminds me of a G&W, and I think it`s worth $2.  Right now, there are only like 5 or 6 games...and those two seem like the only good ones.  Don't take my word for it though, as the others may be fun too... I just don't wanna waste my free points on them if they aren't.  So I'd get WW, B&B, and the (free) browser.  The two screens make it easy to navigate.  Hope this helps :)

Aquia is a good game, too, if you like action-puzzle games.  The presentation is very nice (as expected from the Art Style series).  It's my favorite purchase thus far.

B+B is Pyoro 1 & 2 and is easily worth $2.

Brain Age Math is a rehash of the math games from BA 1 and 2, with a little bit of added content.  It's only worth it if you enjoy Brain Age and want a lite version that doesn't require a cart.

(note: I liked that, before you confirm your purchase on those two, the DSiWare store explicitly tells you that the games are nearly identical to the mini games found in WW and Brain Age -- they're not hiding that fact at all).

The web browser is free, so why not?  It has no flash and is too slow for any fast javascript games, but it works well for text-based games (like Browser Zork and Alter-Ego).  Either switch to column mode or turn on word-wrap to make them more playable.

I don't like puzzle games that much...and right now, I'm watching gameplay videos on the new Master of Illusion game, since no one has seemed to talk much about that...
It doesn't look good :(  But I'm confident in the DSi Ware store.  It will have cool stuff eventually.  I wonder how often and when Nintendo will start adding more games...

And when will my Walmart start carrying Nintendo Points cards??  Stay tuned ;)

Tupin

I won't be able to get one until my birthday in June...

My launch DS Lite will have to do until then.

Blue Protoman

I have decided to get Aquia, Birds and Beans, and save the 300 points leftover for something else.

And, of course I'm getting the browser.  I'm getting anything on the DSi Shop that's free.

I just played the WarioWare game again.  The credits button is another game!

Rogles

Does the DSi store applications in flash memory, or on SD cards?

nintendodork

I don't think you can move the apps anywhere, so it saves it all in it's internal memory.

Yeah, that would make sense.
