What should Nintendo call their next system?

I meant they won't name a system after a system that's aged..
The Gameboys were only a few years apart from each one, so they and the Famicom had exceptions...because they're only a couple years older than each other.  I meant Nintendo won't name their new system the Hyper Famicom, because the Famicom is over 20 years old.

It's possible that they'll just keep incrementing the Wii line, like how the GameBoy was upgraded and eventually became the GBA SP, but still played all the old games, and was therefore the same "system". They're doing it with the DS by upgrading it to DSi. The Wii may simply get spec upgrades and added features periodically until Nintendo finally hits a wall with it and has to create a new family (like the GameBoy giving way to the DS).

Nope.  There was the NES, but most people called it the Nintendo when speaking.  When writing, they called it the NES.

Well, that's wrong.  There's already a system people call(ed) the Nintendo, and this site is dedicated to the Japanese version of it.

Before SNES came out, my friends and I always called the NES "Nintendo" (It was the only thing that seemed to make any sense to call it at that point) -- when SNES came out it was "Nintendo" and "Super Nintendo" ...nowadays I always refer to NES as "NES" as it is pretty much essential to have anyone know what you are talking about (many people don't even know what an NES is, and that is depressing).  The Wii however is referred to as "A Piece of S*&^."

And whenever my mom wanted me to stop playing the NES, she would say "No more Mario"...and I'd scream back,"IT'S NOT MARIO!, IT'S ZELDA!" (or insert other non Mario game).

I think Nintendo's next system will be 3D, I mean truly 3D like virtual reality or somthing similar, so I'd like to think they choose a name like Nintendo Stream, or dream, or.. nightmare

I don't care about the name really, I'd just like to see a new console!

Exactly.  A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet.  The Famicom would be just as awesome if it was called the Turdmonger, so why care about the name?
