Just wanted to know everyones opinion on which system they prefer I personally have both a fully modded gamecube and a chipped wii,I have tried heaps of games on the wii but like the cubes games better and spend a lot more time playing gamecube games which probably has a lot to do with the controller options i dont really like the wii-mote that much, and the gamecube games i have seem to run better on the cube as opposed to the wii kind of like real hardware vs emulation in a way. have any other nintendo fans noticed this?would like to know your thoughts :-)

How do they run better?  Give an example.  I haven't noticed any difference when playing GCN games on the Wii.  Really, the only thing I don't like about the Wii is that there's no way to use an official GB Player on it....yet.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

I think it depends on the person. I don't have a Wii so I can't compare so in the end it's all about what people like.

The Wii runs exactly like a Gamecube because it's the same hardware at a very low level, if you feel differences you're just deceiving yourself (or your Wii is faulty). The only issue I've had with the GC part of the Wii is playing PAL GC games. The Wii disables its video output entirely when a PAL game tries to display 50 Hz video.

I like both systems, I think they are unique in their own ways, and the backwards compatibility of the Wii is a nice bonus.
It's nice to own both, but it's good to know that if you're budget-constrained, getting a Wii will enable you to play a vast library of games from two different generations (plus everything on WiiWare / Virtual Console). Also, no case modding needed to fit 12cm DVDs.

For some reason I find the GC one of the worst Nintendo consoles, only 2nd to the Virtual Boy, I think - is that even a console?

I don't know, something about that violetish thing - not quite a cube, the gamepad was (for the longest time) awkward to me & still is in some ways, not many games I liked, I don't know - didn't really click.

Granted, there are even less games for the Wii I have (Wii Sports, SSBB... that's it! :o) I plan on purchasing more & don't really play video games that often now anyway. :-\

How do they run better well for some reason whether it be my imagination or not i dont know but the games seem to run better on the cube slightly faster in gameplay and the graphics seem sharper and brighter, the game i notice the difference in the most is starfox assault, but i'm probably imagining it

WOW! 2!? I thought my 8 games were not much O_o

Wii.  It can do everything the GCN does, except LAN play (only good for tournaments) and the GB Player.  I have fond memories of playing Gamecube when I first got it.  Mt first 3 games were Super Smash Bros. Melee, Bomberman Generations, and some racing game I didn't like.

@JQM: I don't care what people say, the Virtual Boy is awesome.

I don't really see much of a difference, honestly. I don't really like the Gamecube or the Wii all that much, but they do have plenty of good games.

True that - I don't really hate it.  All I remember playing was Red Alert & getting annoyed by the wire frame graphics.  But I guess that's the only game that does that.

And... Wii can't LAN? Didn't realize that.  It's not like I used the LAN feature on the GC anyway. :-\ Had Double Dash :-\ but no one else did at the time.

Red Alarm.  Red Alert is another game.

Unless you hosted video game tournaments, you'd have no reason to.

I did say Red Alarm, what the hell? I even looked it up making sure I wouldn't put in Red Alert by mistake. How did that happen? :(

I heard that the production time was too short... poor Yokoi... one of the best game designers ever. He even created the god of modern video games: Shigeru Miyahon... Erhhhm Miyamoto!

Anyone else think N hired a hitman?

I like both systems, the gamecube is so compact and it's easy to transport. And, it's the toughest system next to the xbox and ps2... look up the bit with Morgan Von Vebb if you have no idea. The wii lends itself to newer ways to play games with the motion sensitive controller. Both systems are good.
