Actually, I was talking to speedmike, since he noted it was made by Yobo, he made it seem like it was bad.  Sorry for the confusion :)

It works, except I can't seem to get any Mario Bros. 1 to play on it. I tried with 3 different copies. I sometimes have trouble getting other games to work right away, but with a little cleaning I can usually get them  to work. I think my NES wasn't the kindest on my carts, some of the pins are a little chewed up, and this may be why some of the carts don't play well.

As you can see in the picture, the converter plus the game stands really tall out of the console. If I move or bump the Famicom a little hard, then my game will typically freeze.

Overall, I'd go with what MWK said:

nintendodork, not at all, i just had some tough ordeals with couple of these back in a days... works randomly, glitchy or just with a few games. I know - it could have been my hardware (famiclone) issue tho.

I didn't mean that Yobo was a bad company. I was just saying it was a Yobo converter, since the website didn't give a brand name with it. I bought it because it was the cheapest one I could find online and it wasn't, "naked," meaning it has a casing around it.

Bought one from The Uninvited Gremlin.  Thanks!  Can't wait to get it.

I have that same converter & it works great.

The Yobo one isn't bad, a bit too loose for my tastes but it gets the job done.  Gets a bit wobbly if I decide to put in a Game Genie as well but so long as nothing moves, it works.  The Yobo one does have some compatibility issues but I can't remember which games in my collection don't like working with it at the moment and there aren't many games that don't work with it from my experience.

A friend of mine has one of those bare passthrough boards that came with a GameAxe and that's even more rickety.

I got one of these some time back for $30 if memory serves, the best of the ones that I've used and it lets NES games face frontward unlike most adapters:

But I wouldn't pay $40 for one, heck, I'm not sure why I paid $30 for mine.

Not sure if anyone saw my last post, but just to clarify, I bought from from The Uninvited Gremlin, and it came today!  Thanks!
