I've got a Game & Watch question for you all (Also sorry for bumping this, I wanted to save space).

Anyway, my buddy was saying that the Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch game is really hard to find, however I was not aware of that. I checked around and it looks like there are tons of them all over the place.

Now I'm a bit confused because he's usually spot on with these things. Is Super Mario Bros. a rare Game & Watch game?

keiffer01

Well, Game & Watches are rare, but this one is one of the common games.

There's more than one SMB for G&W. The rare one is YM901 and is yellow (not blue). And, the rare one was a Famicom prize given out to about 10,000 people, so not especially rare but more so than most.

I remember I bought the Zelda watch so long ago until my bday came and someone stole it.....when my bday came around my parents would invite everyone in the neighborhood and well some of them were thieves!! I miss that watch...

I have a Donkey Kong Jr. Game & Watch that I got as a gift as a kid; I didn't realize that it might be valuable.I have mine in very good condition CIB with all documents, but the box is kinda beat up. Is it worth anything?

Actually Donkey Kong G&W is about 35$ in Mint condition.

Well it's worth 35$ loose in good condition, but in MINT condition in the box it could be worth 200$ depending on condition.

Here's a pic of the one that I have with box and inserts. I think it's in pretty good condition besides the box.

keiffer01

Yeah what you have there could be worth a good fortune ;) Looks pretty clean except for the box like you mentionned.

Man, I am GUTTED!!  Back in 1994 a worked in a jap import game store and my boss ordered a whole bunch of game & watch (dead stock ) and they were priced very cheap.  Man I wish I bought some but I was bored of them due to the fact I owned a few during the 80's.

Anyway that Donkey Kong junior is ACE!! Don't sell it, what ever you do.
Plant you, feed you, grow you like a flower, like NINTENDO now you're playing with power!!

ericj

I think I'll hold onto it for now. If I had known when I was a kid that it might be worth something someday, I would have taken better care of the box. Guess we all say that!  :D

keiffer01

Yeah we all say that :D Back when I was younger I found a Donkey Kong JR. tabletop game and watch by Coleco (the orange version with the decals on the side). I bought it for like 1$ in a pile of different kinds of junk at a flea market. It Was really clean and all, until I did something I shouldn't have done... I didn't want my batteries to die off since it was always powered on, so my dad installed a power switch on the side of the game! And he also scratched the case very deep with an exactoknife by accident while cutting the case to installl the switch! :( But the game was also missing it's batterie cover, so my dad also cut a peice of plastic from who knows where and drilled it in the game! :( Boy do I regret having him do this to my game :-\

NintendoKing

Wow, even though the box is a bit shot; that is still quite a nice piece of nintendo history you got there.

I would not recommend selling it, keep it; and about a decade or two could be upwards of 300$.

I always thought Game and Watches were neat, but never really attempted to collect them.

Although I do own a Donkey Kong dual screen one-- does anyone know what these typically go for? I don't have a box or anything, but it works fine, has the battery cover, and is in good condition.
