Blu-Ray playback is indeed region locked. (Europe = B, NA+Japan = A)
You can only watch discs from other territories when the code is the same or it it is code free.

I know SONY give the option to region lock movies on Blu-ray but I thought many were not.  Region locking is something I personally really hate.

Yes, it's a shame still so many companies region lock their movies.
There are some German movies I'd want on Blu-Ray, but they're region B, and I can't play them on my Japanese PS3. Sucks.  >:(

satoshi_matrix

Wow. This looks good. if this gets released in English, I'll have to pick up a PS3.

We've all seen / heard about those movies Manuel and you shouldn't be watching them anyway :D

Haha, not all German movies are bad.

Wow, I just watched that video...They really captured the feeling of 8-bit there!
Sorry folks.

nensondubois

I want to kill the people who made regional-locking. :-\

This looks really awesome!

I sincerely hope that this won't become a reason for a lawsuit, because it is suspiciously similar to Zelda.

Nintendo gave up their rights to make good games when they stopped for 15 years. -JigenD

manuel

I don't get it...
Nintendo make good games every year since the beginning of the 80s.

L___E___T

The problem is, Nintendo make games for a target (albeit wide) age group.  If we all grow up and want mature games that's our problem - Nintendo's games are still there and still being made by and for the same peopl.

I like the same games now (age 30) as I did 15 years before (basically)
I personally am not very interested in those "mature" games, because mature in this context just means violent in 99% of the cases.
If Nintendo keeps making games of the Super Mario Galaxy / NSMB / Twilight Princess / Phantom Hourglass caliber, I'll still play them with 60, too.
