Famiclone lightguns

is there any kind of standard for famiclone lightguns with the 9-pin Atari/Sega style connector? or do they all just kinda do their own thing? i have about three of them that don't seem to work, but i'm not sure if they're genuinely broken or if it's just because i'm using them with the "wrong" console.

My famiclone guns work fine on my famicom but they are super flimsy and break very easily.
I've already had 3 break!

Makes me glad that a two wire mod enables zapper support on AV Famicoms.
