FINALLY! I have finished my "MMC5" Famicom cartridges collection (cartridges that run on the mapper #5 and have the MMC5 chip inside)!!! I'm missing only Uchuu Keibitai SDF's and Metal Slader Glory's box  :D

Jpx....
Those are pretty cool! I see a lot of Koei titles in there, so I am guessing a good handful of old school strategy games? While I think the cart design is neat, I wouldn't be able to play them very well... can't read/speak Japanese. Lol. There are games that I am still hunting down foreign language FAQs for. Ha ha ha!

jpx72

You assume correctly, those KOEI titles are all strategies, but since my real interrest is more in the technology those games use (mapper 5 or "MMC5" is the largest Nintendo mapper, the most expensive one and also the most sofisticated of them all, has extra sound chanel and other stuff, and supports the largest -in filesize- games) gameplay is not as important to me. Shame is, as "Kevtris" from nesdev said about those KOEI titles - "their games seemed to totally waste the hardware resources".
Uchuu Keibitai SDF is really fun (but hard) and Just Breed has beautifull music (I also very much like the intro music in Nobunaga no Yabou: Sengoku Gunyuuden). Others, are ...well every one has it's ups and downs. The Metal Slader Glory is the largest official Famicom cartridge ever (512kb prg+512kb chr), and hopefully I will be getting an original soon (thanks Manuel)!

"The Metal Slader Glory is the largest official Famicom cartridge ever "

-Learn something new everyday. I recall that Dragon Warrior 4 really pushed the capacity of the casings, and the board the chips are on. To this day, it's still one heavy NES cart.  ;D

Any idea on how DW4 pushed the Famicom? I know Recca is known for having some of the most sprites on screen without flicker, and for pushing the speed of the hardware itself. Just something fun to mentally explore.

I think I currently have about 200 Famicom games and 120 Famicom Disks... all together (including European and American version) I think I'm getting close to 400 games in the NES/Famicom section of my video game collection. The list is too long to post here though :)
