Colored wax for some reason is just really cool isn't it? I always go for colored wax if I have the choice.
Very! My favorite album by my favorite band was released in three different colors (red, blue, and green, no regular black), and they were all limited releases; 197 red, 600 blue, and 700 green.  It's the only record I want enough to justify it's high price.  The album is (of course) called Colors by Between the Buried and Me.

The Smashing Pumpkins put out painted vinyl for their newest release.  I still have no way of playing it, but it looks cool ;D

Painted vinyl is awesome too. I saw a few of those at a record store in Omaha the other day.  I was tempted to buy them even though I had never heard of the bands just because they looked really neat.  :bomb:

That looks awesome! Picture discs are cool as hell, I have a few myself. I've wanted to mount them on walls for awhile and use them as artwork.

Just scored the red release of this on eBay. I'm also watching a green one. If I get the green one, I may sell the red one, as I could get almost double what I paid out of it.

And I just won the green one. Woot!

Congrats Dork! I'd really like a vinyl copy of "The Silent Circus", the rest of their stuff doesn't do much for me. Those records are nice finds if you got them cheap though.

nintendodork

Thanks! I think I got the green one for a decent price, and I got a really good deal on the red one. I want to get all of their releases on vinyl eventually, but I'm glad I got Colors out of the way. I've seen a few of the Silent Circus on eBay, but they're never reasonably priced.  BTBAM also hardly ever shows up on Discogs. Eh, all in due time I suppose.

Got my two copies of Colors today in the mail, but didn't see them til just now. I'm super excited to play these. (or at least the green one)

There's a picture of me showing how excited I am. Also cheeseburger hat.

Hahaha awesome picture!  :D Yeah that green one looks especially cool.

TW Walsh's new solo album on "milky clear" vinyl: http://twitpic.com/6f7fyw  Wish I could order this, but I'm not part of their record club.  Looks pretty cool, though.

nintendodork

Oohh, I'll have to look at that at home. Twitpic's blocked here at school.

Since my last post in this thread, I got MF DOOM's Mm...Food? album and Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. I love 'em both.

Looks pretty cool, though I have no idea who TW Walsh is  :-[.

I buy new records almost weekly so no way I can update this thread that much with my finds. I meant to do that with my record collecting blog but I just got really lazy. I'll update that soonish. But check this out:

Extremely limited Beatles 7"/T-Shirt set which they're only selling at Target.
Spoiler
I really only bought them to flip on ebay  :-X

Ooohhh boy.  I really wish I lived closer to a Target now.  I'd buy a couple of those for eBay and keep Hello Goodbye/I Am The Walrus for myself...and maybe Let It Be, too.

I have a really small collection of LPs that's growing all the time. Nowadays I mostly buy 45rpm records of 60's South American and European music.

I'm not much of a Beatles fan otherwise I'd keep them. I do love "Let It Be" though.

I am so jealous, I'm a huge Beatles fan  :o
Bought around 12 Beatles CDs at a flea market about a week ago for around 8$, but somehow CDs just don't have that "collector's feel" to them.
I'd like to get into vinyl collecting some day, but still, I hope I won't  :D   (  :coin: :coin: :coin: )

son_ov_hades

Well I did buy out everything the store had  ;D. I can sell you some if you're interested. Though I understand your sentiment about  :coin: haha.
