I was wondering if there is a list of games for the famicom that were never made on the NES in the states.

Doc

Our list at our site lists the games that DID in the official game list, so any without a "released in the U.S. as" note means it wasn't released. :)

Dain

I've always been interested in getting Famicom games that are unique to the Famicom system, but never knew which ones meet this criteria. For example, many NES collectors go for PAL-exclusive games as part of their collection so as to have a copy of each game to play. Is there a list of Famicom-exclusive games that someone has assembled? I think this would awesome information to have -- any thoughts?

That`s quite a list only bringing us up to 1988!!

JC

You can also check out the FW games lists on the site, which indicate for each game on the list whether or not there's a NES NTSC or NES PAL for it. And remember that even some of the games with an NES version are different (sometimes just Japanese/English language diffs, but sometimes much more).

Dain

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks! I know some of those titles were released as pirate carts on the NES, but a lot of them I've never seen before.

Master!!!
Othello was released for NES!

By the way, nice job!
What a usefull list!!!
Now Playing: Dragon Ball Fusions, Yggdra Union

Jedi Master Baiter

Is that the same Othello? I didn't know if it was or not. :-\

madman

I could've sworn Dig Dug was released on NES as well...

JC

Nope. Only Dig Dug II. But there are some errors in Jedi's list...for instance, Devil World was released as PAL NES.

Jedi Master Baiter

Yeah, I didn't know what to do with some of the PAL games.  I also listed Dragon Ball on there, but that was released as Dragon Power... also a PAL release.

I'm not too sure of Hebereke/U.Four.Ia either since there were some differences.

JC

Well, on the FW list, any game with a NES version, even if slightly different is listed. At some point I'm gonna create an icon that'll show up next to the NES listings that'll indicate if it's got any differences from the Famicom version. That's where the game differences thread will come in handy.
