what are the ranks for?

i know that im a disk system and i kinda figured out that with every 50 posts you "level up" but why do we use them and what is it for?

I used to know where the little rank up system thing is, because I remember asking the same question before.  I can't seem to find it now though. (From how I remember it)  the next rank is AV Famicom at 250 posts, then Twin Famicom at 500, then Sharp C1 at 1000, then FamicomBox at 2500, and then Disk-Kun at 5000, and that's it.

I looked for that thread, too, and couldn't find it. I know I can look up the ranks and numbers with my admin access, but I'm too lazy...

1-24 = Famiclone
25-99 = Famicom
100-249 = Disk System
250-499 = AV Famicom
500-999 = Twin Famicom
1000-2499 = Sharp C1
2500-4999 = FamicomBox
5000+ = Disk-kun

I don't think there's need for anything higher than Disk-kun. There will only be a few of them anyway.
