Non-game:

- Game Boy Player for NGC

Most of these here are very cheap, only the ones that are kinda expensive are RE, Mario games and Super Smash Bros Melee.

GameCube sure is a unique looking console, the discs are mini-DVD, the controller is great and the hardware was quite good for the time.

Cubeivore (The most unique title on any of the 6th gen systems )

You're in Europe, right?  If so get Doshin the giant; Weird game but fun.  I have it on my N64 DD.  I'd also reccomend Timesplitters 2 and 3.  Big time!  You must get the timesplitters games.  I myself have like 30 cube games and I bought half of them this year.

Doshin the Giant.. Saw some screens about it and it was kinda weird, like a nightmare monster coming to live, lol.

Time Splitters, Animal Crossing, etc.. are all great titles.

Has anyone played Splinter Cell Chaos Theory on NGC? How was it?

If you like totally awesome but extremely hard games, check out F-Zero GX.

The later courses are borderline impossible.

Paper Mario, definitely. Best game in the series.
P.N. 03. Underrated shooter with a weird rhythm element. Lots of fun.
Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. Great game, if a bit short.
And you might wanna pick up Killer7 if you haven't tried it on the PS2, just to experience it. It's not for everybody (I honestly couldn't stand it), but it's really interesting. There's no other game quite like it.

I'd suggest Gauntlet: Dark Legacy, but I haven't played it myself - still planning on it, though

I remembered seeing screenshots & seeing some aspects from the arcade machine version.

Try it again! It's one of the best ones!

As far as games you NEED are concerned, you should definitely see if you can pick up Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem and Beyond Good & Evil. Both are absolutely superb and can legitimately claim to be some of the best games ever. You may also be interested in Tales of Symphonia if you're a fan of RPGs.

Oh... and Mario Kart: Double Dash!! if you're into self-mutilation.

MK:DD is my favorite Mario Kart game.  I was so determined to beat it.  The day I did will be a day I'll never forget.

If you're into weird but fun Japanese games, I'd suggest Kururin Squash.
Another Japan only GC release I like is Adventure Island. It's pretty much an upgraded port of the Famicom original, Super Mario All-Stars style.
