I love that! I've been working on adapting...certain, special...mice for the FC/NES along with trackballs for use in certain games (e.g. Lemmings, Maniac Mansion, Rampart, etc.) and this is just too cool. Too bad it's only a solid block of foam inside...

Anybody can do this, to any console. Why did I mention it here? Well, because of a special substance: SEM Automotive Paint. If you decide to go Gold, but can't pay for an electroplate job (that is, the way the Zelda carts were made), find a local or on-line SEM paint dealer. SEM bonds to plastic, as it is designed for plastic bumpers and auto trim/interiors, so it wont scratch or flake. No, I don't make a commission. You may also want to make a silkscreen to retouch the faceplate and buttons...

I made something similar years ago, but I widened the NES case to make it work. I'm pretty particular about logic boards, and I wanted a very specific one for the job. It became a mini-server, in case you're curious.

Yeah, the camera does look cool.  Except that the front part seems to be taped on.
