Also known as the great Super Mario Bros. Ripoff from west Germany. This is a really interesting piece of gaming history and definitely overlooked as weird as it is... kinda like a bizaro Super Mario Bros.

Guru Lary has a video on this called video game ripoffs or something like that.

I want the original C64 disk complete, and I may also get a copy for the DS.

The Brothers are history! :D

Machinae Supremacy did a nice cover of their music. If people haven't heard of them, they're a Swedish metal band that uses SiD synths in their music.

There was another band that did a cover of Comic Bakery called Press Play on Tape. They did a few other covers, but Comic Bakery was their biggest hit.

I enjoy the C64 version, but I didn't know there was a DS version. That's awesome. It's definitely a great game. If you haven't heard of it, another Commodore 64 platformer you should check out is Mayhem in Monsterland. It's very Mario-esque, but it really showcases the graphics capabilities of the Commodore 64. It almost looks like a SNES game. You can still buy new copies from www.binaryzone.org - if you live in an NTSC area, make sure to ask for an NTSC fixed copy.

Did you guys check out my extensive coverage of the series? I wrote quite a bit and if you're interested in Giana Sisters, it's no doubt a recommended read.
