Update: Price still hasn't gone down...

Really? I've seen a few places where it's been at least $19.99.

Everybody hyped that game to death.
Basically I don't like shooting games of all kinds.
But everybody said "best game ever", so I bought it.

I was a bit disappointed. I'm just not made for that type of games I guess. I died several times, then became a bit more cautious and coukd manage not to die so fast, but somehow it now sits on the shelf collecting dust. Maybe I should give it a try again. It was 20 Euros (24$), so I don't want to have those wasted...

Yeah, that's pretty much the reason why I want to buy it. I was to know what the fuss was all about. Looks like it isn't over much, though...

Holy shit! I'm like two years late playing this game, but I just picked it up today for $20 and it's amazing! One of the best games I've ever played!

How different tastes are.
I also bought it over a year ago and just couldn't get into it. I stopped playing after 4 hours or so. I didn't even die that much...
I guess I'm not made for shooting games.

I must say and admit that it's very well playable. It's just not my type of game.

man, im still not even halfway through it and its still fun. I usually didnt think Resident Evil games were all that good but this game is near perfect. Definitely the best game ive ever played for PS2.

i bought RE4 when it came out.I love the Re series and have owned and beat all of them except the outbreak games and the NDS one. That said, Re4 was my least favorite(uh...no zombies?) but still a fun game.Glad you are enjoying it. :)

Josh

I got RE4 for GameCube for Christmas back in 2005.  I played it for a few hours, but then I got distracted and stopped playing.  It wasn't until late last year that I picked it back up, and I'm still amazed at how I was able to ever stop playing it!  The game was really very very good.

It was my first RE game (since I mostly own only Nintendo systems :D), but it definitely got me interested in the series!  However, I have no desire to play any of the previous RE games, since they all have that crappy fixed camera "tank"-control crap.   ::)

I finally almost finished with the game...it's long as hell!

And I hear the Gamecube remake of the original Resident Evil is worth getting. It's completely remade (new graphics, voice acting etc.) and 70% of the game is new content. I think you can find it for about 10 bucks.

Yeah, but REmake is still the same old fixed camera "tank" controls type of RE game.  I admit I don't have much experience with the style, but it's not hard for me to be able to tell that I'd hate it.  :P

Doc

Merged. :)

I've been wanting to get this game for the Gamecube for awhile, I'm thinking of buying it, since it's so much cheaper now.

my playing has been limited to the ps1 and ps2 ...i know....but i just got RE ds this weekend for my bday.I love my wife:).I didnt know it was a remake of the first RE....loving it still.

FamicomFreak

I want to pick up both RE remake and RE4. I wish they would go down on price tough.
