We're all your close friends - please share the story :P

Congratulations on the find - that's a nice little piece!!

I'll gladly share the story, but I can't share it publicly, sadly.  I'll PM it to you later though, and anyone else curious about knowing, just PM me and I'll also share.  It is not too exciting, lol, but alas I can't post it on here.

I got a few more nice pieces, though I can't post pictures for now as my main computer isn't working (again...this time I am waiting for a new power supply).

But I got another Taiwanese Famicom (again, sadly not boxed), and someone had AV modified it.  Sort of a shame to see it not factory standard, but I'll probably use it as one of my main machines.  it even had the Taiwan-version power supply.

Then I also got a few unlicensed Sega games of non interest, and a FDS cartridge port of Castlevania.  For the longest time I didn't think this actually existed, but I finally found it.  It is definitely one of the rarer ones.  Now I only need maybe two or three more carts until I have all of those.

Nice!  Can you please post a video of that Castlevania cart and game running?  I am more used to the FDS version as I mainly played the GBA JP cart which is based on that version.

A year ago bought Famicom with Disk system and adapters AND 15 disk games/10 cartridge games (Including gun smoke and Super mario bros) for $10. TEN. DOLLARS. They were an older couple of 50 or so and I'm a teenager so they said hey, special price for you. You will enjoy more than other people might. And they were right. Had to replace the belt on the disk system for $5 (and new RF cord for $10), but $25 for the complete system and quality games? Score! Anyone else had an experience like that?

Even a disk system with a broken belt goes for much more than $10, let alone a working Famicom. Where there any complete games with manual and/or box?

I've made deals sometimes. Some years ago I found a loose Super Famicom Super Scope (sight and sensor included) in a $1 bargain box. It was sold as untested with no guarantee but since it was so cheap and in pretty good shape I bought it. It worked flawlessly!

Picked up a few more things over the weekend;

I'm really curious about this one:

Apparently this was sold in stores here, under the counter. I assume it is emulators and roms.v

I also really like this Famiclone, as the controllers remind me a lot of the NES.

Got this the other day as part of a lot. People like to throw the word "rare" around frequently, but this does seem genuinely rare. Feels good to cross it off the list.

Just like the karaoke upgrade carts for other Famicom karaoke machines, yes this one is harder to find.  Nice find!  With that said, I am honestly on the fence about counting this one as part of a Famicom "full set".  I tried the two Karaoke upgrade carts on emulators, and it reminds me exactly the same as the situation with the Nantatte!! Baseball: Kogame Cassette carts.  Just a minor upgrade, not really sure if that can constitute a required title or not.  But it's still a nice piece anyway.  :)

It's kind of like physical DLC, isn't it? The base Karaoke Studio game should count no matter what, though, since you just plug it into the Famicom like any other cart (even though it's shaped differently).

But if you don't count those Top Hit carts and the baseball carts, then I think you have to seriously consider whether or not the Datach carts should count as well. Since they they require an accessory and don't plug directly into the system either. I guess it's better just to own everything to be safe, huh.

While I respect your opinion, I feel that the Datach carts are more comparable to the Aladdin Deck Enhancer carts, since they are actually different games.  When trying out roms for the Karaoke Studio add-ons, and also personal experience with the Baseball carts, it is just a few more songs tacked on at the end of the original game's menu, or a few stat changes.  It just doesn't seem much like a game at all, and if we include things like this for 20 extra songs tacked onto the end of an existing game's menu, then where do we draw the line?  What about the Famicom network devices.  Should they count?  After all, one one of the versions, there is a software screen that pops up, which is probably a larger deal than the karaoke / baseball stuff.

Which brings us down to your last sentence, "I guess it's better just to own everything to be safe, huh".    I personally feel this way.  I am just asking you for some of your own opinions on this stuff, since I know that you are also trying to get a complete Famicom set (how is that goal coming btw, sadly your NA thread is never updated anymore) and some of your exclusions previously (Kung Fu, Tailor Made, Safety Rally) seem like (to me) to be a much larger omission than what could be considered as "Downloadable Content before downloads were a thing."

Then there is always Kiddy Sun, that bastard licensed Famicom game that wasn't really confirmed as to being licensed until recently.

Congrats on this find - I let a CIB version slip through my fingers some years back, I don't really feel like hunting down a copy at this point anymore, it's too hard to find! :)
