Legend of Zelda question

Here's an odd question; does the famicom mic kill Pol's Voice in the cart versions of Zelda (US and famicom reissue?)

It does work in the cart version for the Famicom (linky).  Not sure about running the NES version through a converter.

I will have to give it a try once I find a converter for my Famicom.
