Holy s#it this's awesome!  So it converts the dump so when you burn it it'll be fully nes maskrom compatible?

Almost, you cannot swap VCC (+5V), VSS (GND), CE and OE (and other "special pins" like VPP), this thing can only swap adress and data lines, as far as I know :D

Oh so it saves you maybe 2 wires....smeh I'd rather just rewire.

Well there are more situations, most often there are at least 3-4 pins to be left untouched, but there are even more with RROM. Or, in case of Japanese SMS games, you can save almost every pin!

what is this thing actually doing?

Switching the rom data so that when you burn it it rearranges the pinout so the eprom is closer to the maskrom pinout making it so you have to do less rewiring.

Sheesh isn't that obvious enough?  ;)

Really I have no idea how exactly it works because I can make two pins a11.  Heck I can make all of them a11 haha

jpx72

Heh you can select A11 on more than one pin but that will not work :D
Farid just haven't included this restriction.
It re-arranges the data in rom to be read in other than standard way.

Farid's projects are very unusual and quite impressive
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy
