I am looking for someone to do the AV mod on a Red/White famicom. Its my only game console that I hook up to the TV that still uses RF, heck my CED player from....about the same year does Composite, and through a quick mod, S-Video is possible. I know S-video is not possible without the Playchoice PPU, so all I am looking for is a Mono AV mod...that retains the RF jack so that I can use RF in case I am stuck on a tropical Island with my famicom and all they have are 80's dial TVs.

Name your price, I'll pay shipping both ways.

I'm your guy, PM me if you wanna work out something...

Are you still offering this service?

the mod is not so hard, it is very simple :) see this scheme!

I have no soldering experience and very little dealing with electronics. I dont want to destroy my famicom, they are gettig expensive  :)

I wish you luck to find someone who will mod for you for a cheep :)
I recommend  you to not drill hols in the case , and disabling the RF , see my mod :)

How much would you charge? Lol

I am from Bulgaria, and only the post for 2 ways will cost a lot :(  for example when I ordered from Japan my famicom the tax was about 24 $ in one way .

no need to buy a kit just bay those elements from the scheme and that is it for the video output, the audio one is even easier just one 10mF cap and wire from cartage slot pin 46  :) I will help if you need.
And practice soldering on some dead PCBs, or just ask a friend with experience to help, the scheme is very easy to follow :) I wish you luck with moding!  :D

I just modded one of the earliest model famicoms out there by using Da Bears guide and using the RF port to route composite out of & then simply removed the channel selector switch and used my dremel rotary cone shaped stone to hone out the plastic above the spot where the channel switch was & make it look factory beside the RF (now composite) port. It was not too bad I used a cheap desoldering pump and iron to remove the RF components & it required just a resistor and capacitor on the RF board & the famicom board it just require removing one resistor and bridging that gap & replacing another with a lower ohms & that's it. The RF suffered from so much radio interference on my early model at channel 95 and 96 so RF just was no good on the early unit. I didn't want to lift the 21 pin on the PPU either that can screw ppu up for good if something goes wrong. Here's pics of my mod & my first mod of this type so I'm sure you can do it if you put a bit of time and research into it.

Do you have a link to Da Bears guide? Where did you buy the parts?
