Help me determine if this is fake. (Club Nintendo code up for grabs!)

I was hunting in my local flea market, and I came across a boxed japanese Wii remote plus. The box looks legit, and most of the controller checks out fine. The D pad feels a little more rounded than usual. The jacket and strap did raise a few flags. However, there's a manual and Club Nintendo pamphlet included, and I doubt that someone would go through the trouble of reproducing these. So In an effort to find out whether it's legit, I ask anyone with a japanese Club Nintendo account to use the code and see if it works.
