Im a late in my twenties :old: man and recently got back to famicom gaming. I got my gf interested in it too and instead of the ugly, incoherent FB games online, we would rather spend our hours with the golden games of the 80s and 90s.

So far we have had a blast playing Battle City, Ice Climber, Bwings, Twin Bee and Tetris. We dont have Contra or Ninja Turtles yet but Im planning to get them soon.

Aside from these games above, what other 2 player games out there can you more experienced guys recommend? Unfortunately me and my gf arent too knowledgeable about the other 90% of games released back then. The shops here in the Philippines usually only stocked the most popular ones and ignored the obscure ones. Thanks guys! Your help will be greatly appreciated as we spend more of our freetime smashing the buttons on the controller and chugging away at the mountain dew. :D

:edit: forgot to say 'coop' >.>

b-wings isn't co-op is it?

hopefully tomorrow I will be playing coop with a guest, all three Twinbee games and Final Mission. Boy, that will be awesome, I hope.

Twinbee on game boy is my favourite game right now but it's hard to tell the bells apart there.

I've was able to buy of a copy of Crisis Force in Japan. I'm going to send it here by air soon for some more awesome two player shmup.
Selling  Japanese games in Sweden since 2011 (as "japanspel").

I like to play "level and life at a time" with strictly one player games.  Just switch when you die or finish a stage.  It becomes co-op!

Jurassic Park does this for you! ;D

Anyway, Famicom games...

Double Dragon II: The Revenge

Final Mission (I have barely played this, but looks fun... a.k.a S.C.A.T.)
Ganbare Goemon 2 (Mystical Ninja game) 8)
Green Beret (pre-Contra run & knife game... although it's an FDS title, you might find a Famicom version... a.k.a. Rush'n Attack)
Rescue Rangers (pick up boxes & throw them) ;D
Skykid (arcade sidescrolling plane game)
US. Champion V'Ball (although Super Spike is better)

Urban Champion!  It's actually a pretty good paper rock scissors fighting game once you 'get' how it works.

Bubble Bobble (FDS but there might be cartridge versions as well)
Salamander
Balloon Fight
Snake Rattle n Roll
Ice Hockey (probably fun even if you don't like ice hockey. FDS)
Ikari (Commando clone but many people doesn't seem to like it. It's very hard but there's a useful cheat code in it)

Don't forget the sequel Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers 2.

As a kid I used to play Super Mario Bros 3 just for the Mario Bros style battles with made-up rules with my siblings.
Though usually we just played 1 player games with "level and life at a time rules" like LET said. Works well with most non-RPG/adventures.

Oops I meant to say balloon fight instead of bwings btw. Thanks for the replies too, I forgot about bomberman2 and chip and dale. We also do the level and life turns but im more of a gamer than her and dont want her to feel left out too much. Even if she keeps shooting me in battle city on every round, its still fun cause we can scream at each other during coop :P

YES  SS V'Ball is easily one of my favourite sports games ever! sooooo much fun.
I'm not sure about coop games, i prefer 2 players when you're competing, aslong as you play with someone who isn't a sore loser. Blades of Steel, SS V'Ball, Baloon Fight and Hyper Olympics are all favourites of mine.

Boy, you sounds promissing :) Try Othello :)
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy
