I caved and got a Wii U

Damn Nintendo and their marketing and their great games! 
I didn't even plan to get a Wii U, like, ever... But walking through my small local Yamada Denki (their complete video game aisle is only about 3 meters long) I saw they had one Premium Set in stock.
Then I saw my son's face before my inner eye, saying "Daddy, I'd so like to play the Momonga Mario game" (he saw that in the Nintendo pamphlets and on youtube) and before I knew it I took the purchase card to the register and bam I had a Wii U. 
They also added little extras (exclusive to Yamada Denki).


So far I like it. Youtube works great. The gamepad is incredibly nice to hold. I guess my hands have just the right size for it.
Importing my Mii from the 3DS also worked like a charm.
Now if I could link my 3DS and Wii U up to play my Virtual Console games on the Wii U I'd be happy. But that's probably not going to happen... :/

Why do people say "I'll wait in a year when there's a price drop"? We all know there won't be a price drop for years. When did the Wii get its first? 2009? Nintendo is selling these at a slight loss right now. No way they're going to drop the price any time soon.

The Wii was a lot more hyped than the WiiU.  I think it's easy to predict that it'll see a price drop before 2015.

I think they will.  Personally, I'm waiting at least a year because I think the best games will come in the second year.
