Well, it is Nintendo related so why not.

I got an email not too long ago from Club Nintendo saying that I needed to use my coins because they were gonna expire later in ther summer. So I used them, and what did I get?

Well, I wasn't a fan of the DS game card cases/stylus sets, the wii remote holder looked stupid. I didn't like Game and Watch or the Mario Party 8 playing cards and didn't have enough for the Hanafuda cards that Nintendo used to be known for.

So by process of elimination, I got the Mario hat DS game rack and it looks a lot better in person than in the picture... some assembly was reguired but there were instructions.

Hey, speaking of Club Nintendo, I forgot that it's June!  At the end of June, Gold and Platinum members get a special reward.  I wonder what it will be.

I already got my platinum reward for last year, a Mario hat. I think I'll have to post some photos later.

Do they in Japan?

EDIT* Damn, it seems now there is an Elite status above Platinum.  I would have an Elite status if I saved all my coins (1,130) but I spent most of them on the G&W Collection.  I only have 320 coins now, and that means I'll have Platinum at the end of the month.  Makes me wonder what each rank will get.

They reveal the prize in Japan, but after the 1 year period ends. In Japan, the Club Nintendo year goes from Oct 1 to Sep 30.

And if the system is the same, it doesn't matter how many coins you spent. In Japan, all points you earn during the year count towards your status. Once you have 400 points, you've got platinum status. Even after you spend those 400 on something, the and have 0 points left, you still have 400 status points.

So in your case, if you got all your 1130 coins during the last year, all of them should count towards your status.

I hope it's like that.  My status didn't change from Platinum to Elite, but they didn't show an actual icon for elite on the FAQ, so maybe it's just added on.  I don't know.  I wonder what Nintendo's first prize will be in North America.  I guess just about anything is better than the stuff we have already.  I'll be happy with whatever

It looks like I made elite status, I got more than 600 coins. Now I just gotta remember to check in July 1.

Any ideas what the prize may be anyone?

Does it say "Elite" beside your account name, or does it still say Platinum?

still says platinum, but I know I made elite status because to be elite, you gotta make gold or platinum. And according to the email I got, the prize thing will come in the fall of this year.
