Yep. And it'll be able to run tons of games since the Genesis doesn't have that 'hundreds of different mappers' thing the NES has. But OTOH it's a 16 bit system so it requires 16 bit ROMs (or two 8 bit ROMs in parallel).

that's BLAST PROCESSING !!!

Only if your birthday is on Feb. 29th ::)

nurd

My uncle's birthday is Feb. 29th

Also, I found a bunch of EPROMs inside of
"some old thing that added words to movies but was broken so I took it apart completely"

133MHz

Yeah I've got a bunch of EPROMs too, in fact a box full of 'em. And building an EPROM burner is no great deal, but an EPROM eraser is a completely different thing. You cannot make one yourself, and they're pretty expensive (about 100 dollars around here), and without an EPROM eraser you can't reprogram those nice EPROMs you stole from old equipment :'(

nurd

Would the light from one of those Safety Glasses Disinfector things work?

Or does it need to be even more..um... exXtreem.. than that?

Also, If you need that crazy light to erase them, Why would they put stickers over the window?

133MHz

The light from counterfeit bill detectors doesn't work
I don't really know what a Safety Glasses Disinfector is. Maybe?

Because the sun also emits that kind of UV, but very few of it gets to the Earth. But enough of it to erase an EPROM if left under sunlight for weeks.

Careful with that thing, it's dangerous to the skin & eyes!

nurd

THEN WE GO TO HE SUN AT ONCE.

They have these all over our school for some reason.

It holds like 30 pairs of Safety Glasses.

The inside walls are mirrored.

You close it, turn a nob, which locks the door and starts a timer for 30 minutes.
I'm pretty sure it shoots YEW-VEES at the glasses

133MHz

If the thing locks up then probably it's that kind of YEW-VEES ;). Why not ask?

nurd

Because it's summer and the school is locked.  :-\

I could probably find one at the university, though.

I will microwave one and see what happens.

UPDAYT:

I could see very bright blue sparks through the window. It was cool. Also, the glass has brown spots.

ericj

Microwaves aren't UV light, they're electromagnetic waves--UHF, SHF, & EHF. The safety goggle boxes probably sterilize the goggles with UV light.

nurd

I know its not UV, I just wanted to see what would happen.

Didn't the guy who invented microwave something die from radiation?

Also, that the Zyclon-B was invented by a Jewish guy?

I think that is Irony.

Where I live it's winter, so school == not locked.

nurd

Well actually, I could sneak in with the new summer band kids. The rooms are locked, though Oh well.

133MHz

The lack of an EPROM eraser is the only thing stopping me from converting that pile of old EPROMs I have into custom carts and stuff.

A programmer can be built with $5 worth of parts. Erasing them is the real deal.
