Hey all,

I'm getting back into the community thanks to a ton of work I've been doing lately wrt retro gaming, and I figured now was a good time to point you all to my website, http://www.invisiblegamer.net. For awhile, this has served as a place for me to get some writing out there (though I have other avenues as well, thanks to some great people I've gotten in touch with over the last year); more importantly, I've been using it as a platform to give other, aspiring games writers a place to be heard.

Often, this translates to college students trying to break into the game reviewing business; we've had some success lately with publisher relations (i.e. free games for our writers to review), which helps our writers bolster their resumes. My work here and elsewhere has turned into some freelancing opportunities at IGN for me, and I sincerely hope others who have written for us will be able to turn their enthusiasm and talents into paying gigs as well.

Anyway, that's all very pretentious sounding, I'm sure - check it out, if you'd like! Here's a piece I wrote on Metroidvanias that has been making the rounds this week:

I have, but it's on a case-by-case basis, especially outside of Nintendo where different PR-ers cover different games, even within the same company. Took a loooooooooong time to finally get someone to say yes to me/us, but once they did, it started to get a little easier. :)
