I've had it with your shit, Nintendo.

I'm trying. I'm trying so hard to like Nintendo. But they're trying to lose customers with every step they take. Literally everything involved with the Wii U has been thoroughly criticized.

* No HDD
* No analog triggers
* Not supporting most forms of surround sound
* Not supporting DVD/Blu Ray
* Accounts locked to consoles, currently
* OS is as slow as humanly possible
* NO. GAMES. Even as a hardcore Nintendo fan, I'm having trouble finding actual games to play on the thing.
* That fucking VC launch lineup. We've gotten all of those games either on 3DS, or through the VC trial campaign, except for SMW
* Launch dates missed on multiple games (Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends)

All of this, and they're still dicking around with things like Panorama View. Hint hint, Iwata. No one's going to pay $2 for a barely-interactive video. This whole System Update/Virtual Console has been a fiasco. In the last Nintendo Direct, Iwata showed off VC games that are now apparently not coming at launch. He then said that the update was coming this week, with VC launch the next day. On the official Wii U Facebook page, they posted a picture of some VC game with the caption "three days", and another the next day with "two days", leading people to think the update was coming that day.

Well, that day came and went with no update. The members of NeoGAF were going nuts. Now, it turns out the countdown wasn't one for the VC launch, but for the announcement of the VC launch lineup. To make matters worse, we already knew which games were in the lineup. To make it even worse, literally none of those games are "new". They're either available on 3DS, Wii VC, or Wii U VC through the trial campaign. They could put something like Yoshi's Island or Star Fox  out there to get people excited; but no, you're getting Donkey Kong Jr. again, and you're gonna like it.

Isn't it embarrassing that not only is the console so bad that people are going ape-shit over a firmware update, but that the company can actually disappoint them with it? The Wii U fanbase is so starved for games, that they're looking forward for an OS update.

I'm usually not one to claim Gloom and Doom, but it's as if Nintendo gets sick pleasure in disappointing people.

Spoiler
They better fucking fix my Wii Mode, too

Well. You can fix the Wii mode yourself by changing the display settings in Wii U mode to 4:3. A pain in the ass, but it works.

That's why I'm sticking with the 3DS handheld so much awesomeness in it! I love it!! ^_^

I said I would get one for Zelda, but with so many great free games these days even that's starting to look in jeopardy.

Which free games are great?

I have a few on my Kindle, but none are even remotely good.

That being said, buying a console for only 1 game does seem a bit excessive.
I personally need about 10 games to justify a purchase.
I only need 9 more on the WiiU.  :-[

As a Wii U owner, I can safely say that I don't care about any of those points except for the "no games" one.

And, let's be fair, the Rayman Legends thing was Ubisoft's fault, not Nintendo's.

Things aren't looking great for the Wii U.  Seen the news?

Which news?  I've seen some that they are planning on cutting HW costs, and some that they are not selling well..  But nothing drastic I don't think

Basically, 2013 Wii U sales are bad.  Really bad.  Only 200,000 units sold worldwide over the past three months bad.

Iwata's response was pretty much, "we're going to release games this year", so, let's hope that goes well.

Yeah, the Wii U is sucking pretty hard right now. That is why I am sticking with my (Pikachu edition) 3DS XL  ;D

The thing is just way too over priced for anyone but dedicated games/Nintendo fanboys and rich white parents of spoiled little kids to afford. I mean, look at the 3DS, they wanted $250 for it at launch, and in three quarters, they had only sold about 2 million units. However as soon as they cut the price down to $170, in one quarter they doubled the number of sales that they made in the last three quarters.

Nintendo is just getting too greedy for their own good  >:(
Here are a few games I am looking for right now
Super Puzzle Fighter II X (Sega Saturn)
GeGeGe no Kotarou (Sega Saturn)
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu (Sega Saturn)
KiKi KaiKai (PC Engine) (CIB)
Puzzle Bobble (Super Famicom) (CIB)

Again,Nintendo should stick with their handheld as they have done so well since the release of the gameboy. They haven't been good since the snes relating to consoles that is.... No offense to Nintendo 64 and GameCube fans

I thought GameCube was great, but the WiiU has a problem in that it's targeting core gamers, but doesn't have the hardware power or the software lineup.  Targeting core yet styled as a casual machine is not good.  They can't target younger gamers because the thing is twice as expensive as an Xbox that already has a ton of great games.  So, this is why I think it's really difficult for them.  Unless they can find a way around it I can honestly see them ditching it a la Virtual Boy.

Manuel - free games on PC mainly, I'm not into shooters but there are a lot of free games around the corner that look interesting (not iOS etc.).
