My gamecube component cable is coming today. Anybody interested in some pictures of the change of in quality? I even have the Zelda collectors edition so I could compare the Zelda Nes games to the originals (same for n64)

Sure. Where did you get component cables for GameCube? I'd love to get a set for mine as well.

Ebay. Managed to get one for just $75 because the auction wasn't titled correctly.

So let's see the snap snaps! I've wanted one of those for a while. There's definitely a huge difference playing Gamecube games with Wii component cables versus S-Video on Gamecube...let's see some Gameboy Advance games!

A GameCube with component cables is the only way to play. Its games look and play fantastically with the upgrade. I'd love to see some comparison shots, they're always interesting to look at. ;D

An interesting side note (and something you may wish to look into more with this topic) is that the GameCube outputs a better quality image with component cables than a GameCube game being reproduced on a Wii with component cables. The Wii output appears to be blurrier than the GameCube output. I guess it has something to do with aliasing of some sort.

For the most part it doesn't impact the experience but little things made it pop out. The background of the game select menu on Luigi's Mansion and more or less all of Majora's Mask were where I was aware of the difference the most.

If anyone has more information on this phenomena that would be great!

Probably because with the Wii it's done in the machine, with the GCN it's not, hence the expense of the cables.

Ask and you shall receive :)

I would have thought it would have looked blurry considering it wasn't designed for a 42" screen but it really does look quite good. I'll make an album this weekend with comparison screens. I have an rgb modified n64 so it'll be interesting to compare it to the cube. I suppose I could play the ocarina of time demo on my wii u too (super smash bros demo) for a third comparison.

I no longer own a regular wii so I can't compare that.

If somebody would send me one I'd be more than happy to compare lol.

Would be good considering some of the DS homebrew and emulators.  Actually, on that note - does the GCN Gameboy player support GBA flashcarts? If so would be great to see how it played something like Metal Gear, many emulators can't play that game properly, but GBA plays it flawlessly.

Yeah the GB Player should run a flash cart just fine. As far as I know it's just the guts of a Game Boy Advance in a different shape.

Full disclosure: I've never actually tried it so there's a chance it won't work. Sometimes logic doesn't apply to electronics, as I'm sure we've all come to notice. :P
