Hey guys, here's a picture of my ram adapter.

Would any of you know if that area is suppose to have solder? Thanks.

My ram adapter is soldered there, but you may have a different board revision that doesn't require it. Is it working okay?

Unfortunately I don't know. I still have not fixed my famicom. All I have is an assortment of famiclones to try (which of course is never guaranteed to be compatible.) I could try this ridiculous contraption though.

Anyway, I was just exploring the fds adapter and noticed the missing solder. Thanks for letting me know yours is soldered!

edit: well I tried that crazy method and it appears to not have worked. Maybe I should try fixing that solder joint?

I'm no fds expert...but I'd say solder it.

Drakon

so if there's no pin going through there then soldering it won't break anything.

But there is a pin going though the hole.

I wouldn't solder it. Some of the copiers I have have pins that aren't soldered and they work fine. If you test it out and it doesn't work, then maybe try soldering it.

MS-DOS4

Alright, thank you.  :) I'll leave it unsoldered while I fix up my real famicom. If it still doesn't work after a connector cleaning I'll try soldering.
