(Reminder: I am French and no English, I do my best, forgive my mistakes in spelling and syntax!)

Hi everyone  ;)! After making the change to have a famous AV output with a Nintendo multi-out plug in a box (see my personal changes here : http://www.famicomworld.com/forum/index.php?topic=4713.msg109867#msg109867 ), I decided to make a NES to Famicom controller converter.

I had an old NES dead, so I get the connectors, and the little plastic front ...

In France, accessories Neo Geo are quite rare, so finding an extension cable for Neo Geo joystick, it's hard! There on ebay but the postage is too expensive ... So I had the idea to make me a DB-15 connector to fit on my Famicom: I get on an old computer, but you know, the plug is too short! By following this tutorial French (http://www.neogeofans.com/leforum/showthread.php?t=37692), so I changed my plug. I bought a box, and drill a few strokes of the result:

I recycled the little plastic front of the NES and the screws that retain, I cut, recover the original screws, etc. ..
It works fine, the case is a bit big but I know I have not found smaller.

What do you think? I await your responses!

Nice :) and yes the case could be made smaller but since this is the only case you have it is ok :)
I am back everyone :)

I found several smaller boxes, but the problem was they were not deep enough to accommodate the NES controller ports as well as my connections. I could have put a smaller box, but in this case, I'll make a box with 3 wires coming out (one wire to the DB25, and two cables with sockets NES) but I wanted to do an accessory that we plugged directly into the Famicom ... And it is very robust!

Thanks for you answer tonev :)

This thing is awesome! I love that it is all contained in the casing.

133MHz

Great job! Looks a bit like mine, but better! ;D

tonev

@133Mhz hm your connector is no long enough to fit in a famicom so how are you using it?
I am back everyone :)

I think he has told us that it just barely touches the pins, so with effort he can get it to work. He should definitely do that modification to elongate the connector.

ericj

I bet that the zapper and some other controllers won't work with that.

famiav

Yes I know there are cables on ebay, I had located one for $ 14, but my accessories only cost me 3 euros to manufacture than the end, I had already recovered while on an old NES and DB15 recovered on an old computer!

I used the schematic provided by 133MHz on a topic of this forum and it works perfectly ! thank you!

And must: the Double-Player Acclaim System works perfectly on my original Famicom! It's great!

I feel embarassed I passed french in school for 9 years and I can't speak any of it.  Yet your english is quite good....

Just where would one get a 15 pin connector that's not the three row VGA thing that radio shack seems to only carry? D:
I don't know how to fox. D:

Thank you all! I added a little something on my accessories, I added a power indicator (a red LED, connected directly to the +5 V and ground connector behind)
