Yes, another looking for Gimmick!

I'm looking for a pristine CIB example to add to the collection, will pay top dollar.
Also looking for a pristine Trip World.  Again top dollar.

Maybe someone here has a pristine one and wants to make some money, or somebody knows someone wit one for sale?  Please shoot me a PM or just post below with questions/humour/ridicule.

Thanks, gonna pass though as it's double the going rate and not pristine.
Thank you for posting though, I do appreciate it.

I am a big Nintendo fan! especially GameBoy, N64, SFC, GC. And of course Mario games
I collect SFC/N64 mainly. Some rare famicom stuff too. Also miscellaneous video game stuff.

I'm sure you already know this, but you can get an NTSC reproduction from retrousb. Of course, it doesn't have the expansion audio, but it's identical in every other day. I love Gimmick and wish I could justify spending hundreds to own the original cart.

ramenlegend

retrousb version was discontinued :'( I'm still waiting to snag one on ebay, but they rarely show up

I have two repros of it already, just waiting to get the real deal while I can afford it :)

I can't spend on the RetroUSB version though - it looks really ugly to me (sorry!) :(

Thanks, if it was on eBay I'd snag it, but the added costs from YJ put me off...

well if anyone has a retro usb gimmick that they think is ugly and want to sell please pm me  ;D

I am gonna tell you, it will take some serious luck to grab it for a decent price on Ebay.  You're looking at 200 plus for a loose cart; the last time I saw a complete one it went for more than 300 dollars.

Also, from what I've seen on Japanese sites and YAJ, a CIB copy will run you at minimum about $250 US.  I'll keep an eye out if I see a cheaper price and post it though.

BTW, has anyone seen a copy that doesn't have the label discoloration (i.e., along the edges of the label on the cart)?  I've seen that on just about every picture of it (and on my copy).

Someone always beats me to saying these things.  I too wold love a copy of that cart to death.

But yea, YAJ is your best bet.

Y38K is actually better than I thought.  Yen rate has dropped, but I don't think regular going rate is $425, that's tourist price (you should already know this).
Either way I'm holding out for a pristine copy.

Agree with you on both points.  $250 is a given, I'm looking in around $350 range, not $450 though.  Discolouration seems to be the nature of the best as well.

Prices can vary of course, but most of the available copies on the net tend to be priced very high.
That's not to say you can't find it at the lower end of the scale mentioned above.

And there are pristine copies without discolorations out there.

Right now there are 2 CIB copies on Yahoo auctions.
1 is without a BIN price and stands at 17000 Yen right now with 5 days to go. (190$)

The other has a starting price of 29800 Yen and a BIN price of 39800 Yen. That's 332$ and 443$ respectively.

I know it's not practical, or the easiest solution, but check out lots on Yahoo Auctions. I saw a lot with a CIB Gimmick sell for 11000 yen (~$140) a few months back, simply because Gimmick! wasn't listed in the details. My account wasn't approved for more than 5000yen, or I woulda been on it! (big regrets in life, *sigh*)
