i have considered buying game and watch games as something to do while waiting for my famicom games to arrive.
i have had my eye on a copy of parachute but what do you think is the best?

(no compilations please)

Oil Panic or Greenhouse!!  Rainshower's good too.  Even Vermin I'd recommend for long plays.

But the best?   Of course it's this:

The correct answer is the Game & Watch Collections on GB/GBC/GBA/DS. Game & Watch games aren't fun for longer than 5 minutes at the most, meaning you're better off getting the collections rather than spending the serious cash for vintage G&W units.

How can you say that??!  I love playing through Zelda and getting the Triforce.  Seriously.  I think they're a marmite (love it or hate it) game offering.  If you played them and loved them when you were young, you're likely to like them now but they're transparently shallow gameplay.  They are basically a dexterity test but the Zelda one offers something more.

To get all the separate collections is a pain in the ass, but if you find a cheap Zelda, or want to lay down serious cash for another I found the dual screen versions the best.

I own Zelda, but don´t think I´ve got the hang of it. What more is there to it than evading projectiles and killing skeletons?

I think my favourite G&W is Mario Bros, it´s pretty fun keeping track of the two screens... and you could co-op as Mario & Luigi to make it easier (too,

Dragons!  Or maybe Wyverns.  You didn't fight the Dragon yet?  To be hoinest, all these games are, are little timing tests.  They test your assessment of timing windows, patterns and your response speed and dexterity.  I like that.

I have Mario Bros too but I don't like it as much.  I don't think it's well laid out, but of course this is all subjective.

DK and DK Jr. are both relatively fun, but little more than diluted versions of the NES games.  As said before, I really love Oil Panic and Greenhouse :)

Donkey Kong and Bombsweeper if you'd ask me.

I remember Mario Bros being very addictive. You get tired of G&W games after some time but when you try it out later again it's as addictive as ever.

I always wanted Zelda but they are quite popular and expensive!
