How Hard Would A Twin Famicom Controller Port Mod Be?

On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the hardest, how hard would it be to rewire the built in Twin Famicom controller wires to be Famicom controller PORTS instead? I'm (hopefully) getting an NES cart slot mod on my Twin to play all of Nintendo's 8-bit console games on it, but how hard would it be to rewire the built in controller wires with the female part of a Famicom controller extension wire, so that I'd have 2 REMOVABLE Twin Famicom joysticks? That way, I'd have a player 2 controller for the Zelda mic trick, but if I got a 3rd party Famicom controller, I'd have something with a start and select button for 2 player NES games. Before you mention just having a Famicom to NES controller adapter, that's not the point. I know it's a redundant mod, but I want the system I never had as a kid, because Nintendo Of America wanted more money!

for you 8 but for someone that knows how to solider wires 4

I'm not doing it, so thanks! Now, how hard would it be to take out the 2 EXT ports on the side, and replace them with NES controller ports, either by themselves, or from the female side of the extension wires? I'm thinking about player 1 AND 2 controller mods, both with start and select buttons for NES controllers. The plan is to play Famicom and FDS games with the Twin's controllers, but have NES controllers as an option for U.S. games! It's gonna be a Famicom THREE, after all! It might take me a while to get the money and parts, then even longer until all the mods are done, but if I can do it, I'll only have to have one console hooked up, instead of 2 or 3! I like multicarts, but I like multiconsoles even BETTER! Thanks to my RetroN 3, I don't have to be in rush to get a SNES or Genesis!

Yes you can wire two more controller ports to your twin famicom but you can only use one type of controllers at a timel For example you can't use the twin famicom and nes controllers at the same time.

I'm not very tech-savvy but I wouldn't mess with the main board more than necessary. It would be much easier to just make new holes or something rather than mess with the EXT ports. That way you don't have to sacrifice them either.

I really have no idea if it's really true but someone here said that you can't use start and select buttons on the red and white Famicom or the Twin. Only the AV Famicom and NES can do that, but then again those doesn't have the mic.

Ummm... so you want make pads detachable and use standart connectors?  ???
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

This mod works with 100% of games and works on any famicom with hardwired controllers.  I also did the mod where you wire controller ports to the expansion port but that mod doesn't work with all games.

i was always wondering too why the controller connected thru the expansion port is not working with some games. Just faced the same issue.

I'm not completely sure why that method doesn't work.  Luckily wiring controller ports to the controller header connections inside the system works 100%.
