lol, I'm English, but I love HK.  I've heard HKers describe themselves as Hong Kongese but I suppose it's not the most PC term.  They mainly want to differentiate themselves from mainlanders, Taiwanese or Macau Chinese.

The 3D glasses were cardboard, made for viewing stereoscopic images printed in magazines etc.

Yeah, the VB sure had its fair share of challenges - I wouldn't even describe it as Virtual Reality but there were all sorts of other issues that Nintendo seemed to be in denial about at the time.

I have always imagined that Let is Hong Kongese (is that the correct word btw?) by heritage, but lives in London.

afair he exposed this flag not a long time ago

Oh lol you are English! Yeah the flag change was recent but I got this impression long ago (I don't remember why), and the flag change just further strengthened it.

Yeah it's not really virtual reality (just stereoscopic 3D), but I meant that Nintendo tried to ride on the VR wave that everyone thought was coming but never did.

I see, that makes sense. I read on multiple places online that the the glasses was "perfect for Virtual Boy" but I guess they just meant screenshots of VB games that are made for those glasses.

I bought a Virtual Boy with a controller, stand and Mario Clash for $30 over ten (wow) years ago and I thought it was a pretty good deal, but one of the displays bugged out on me and I never got around to attempting to fix it myself or sending it off to be fixed. They seem like they'd be a pain to ship.

I almost want to get it fixed just for this sweet homebrew scene, though. A flashcart for this system is totally a viable purchase. I would love to own one if they weren't so (relatively) expensive.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

You can fix a broken VB quite easily - but it can easily go wrong too :(

PlanetVB.com has a whole how to on it though and lots of help.

I'd gladly fix your VB with the solder fix if you send it to me!

WE NEED A MORTAL KOMBAT FOR THE VB!!! Don't lie. You want it too.

I'm happy enough with Hyper Fighting :)

There are new VB games coming still apparently - this year is the 20th anniversary and should see some real corkers released.

HVC-Man

I might get a FlashBoy at some point for the Game Boy Emulator, the Hyper Fighting demo, some of the new homebrews and the few worthwhile but expensive retail games. At $100 it's a bit steep for not much more additional game selection beyond the retail carts I already own.

Still it is very awesome to see homebrew at all on the Virtual Boy. The one thing it desperately needs is more games.

It is an awesome piece of kit - I'd say worth it for Bound High! and the fan translations alone.

Bound High!, Faceball Remastered, Space Pinball, Hyper Fighting (demo), Mansion of Innsmouth (translation with custom levels), and numerous others. :)

I had the pleasure of seeing you get bitten by the VB bug Uninvited - it's actually a very charming system - it's unique and quite polarising, but I love it for that.  Ironically, it's a 2D powerhouse.
