Went through Metroid 2 on the Gameboy, got a new personal record timewise.

Bookyman (Famicom). Meh. You clear Round 7, and the game just loops back to where the game starts (Round 0).

I alo wondered why Athena has a pretty high price - came to the conclusion it's just Athena fandom and a relic of that fandom.

Protoman

Resident Evil 5 on PS3 with the PS Move. Mediocre game turned decent with good controls. But the endgame was mighty annoying anyhow.

How did you find it?  I breezed through much quicker than I expeted to be able to - but partly because I was having so much fun with it.

Defintely a game I'll revisit at some point.

Protoman I haven't even been tempted by a Resi game since Resident Evil 2 - I miss those screen by screen survival horrors.  Onimusha was my favourite.

Holy Diver on the famicom the hardest game I've ever beaten. The game has ruthless difficulty. I admit I had to use the 1up trick to get through this game but I could make it to level 5 without continuing. I'm mentally exhausted from beating this game.

P

Good job on Holy Diver!

Kid Icarus: Of Myths and Monsters - This is one of those Nintendo made games that was never released in Japan. Which is strange since the original game sold best in Japan according to this chart http://www.vgchartz.com/game/6307/kid-icarus/. It was released for 3DS Virtual Console in Japan though.

This game is easier than the original.

Kirby's Dream Land and Trax on Gameboy.

Edit: Samurai Shodown on Gameboy. Charlotte, Hard difficulty, including Kuroko & Hikyaku. Only lost one round, vs. Kyoshiro (heh). Score: 590650 (Pretty low by my own standards).

Being on a Gameboy romp lately, I also beat Myth and Monsters again a few days ago. The levels are indeed much easier, however I've always thought the bosses were a fair deal harder than in the FC/NES game. Nothing too difficult anyway.

P

You are right about that. The bosses were quite easy (if you have been training) in the original but in the Game Boy game they are often very hard. Especially the Minotaur.

The levels are easier because 1) you can't fall off the screen and die like in the original because it scrolls down as well and there are no pits (except the main character). 2) There are small glasses of wine of life that refills small bits of life, these can be found in almost every icarus statue and even as an enemy drop instead of hearts. 3) Big wine of life replenishes itself when you exit a door (in the original it disappears if you exit a door even if you haven't taken it yet). 4) It's easy get points and hearts early on in the game since enemies respawn. 5) Hot springs are in pretty much every level although often hidden.

The original game is hardest in the beginning of the game due to Pit being weak, easy to fall and it's not easy to get hearts and points early on (only certain enemies respawn).

Next I'm going to play Metroid II since I completed Metroid recently.

Very true.

Tetris on Gameboy. Type-B: Level 9, Height 5. It's the first time I've ever done it! Could never pull it off back in the day, my mother used to do it all the time though.

P

Haha my dad used to do it all the time but I couldn't do it. Tetris was one of few games he was better at (another game he was better at was Adventures of Lolo). Nowadays I can do it but it usually takes a number of tries.

Fester's quest nes. Game was pretty easy after you upgrade your gun and whip. your whole inventory refills after boss fights including the health and invisible potions. Love the crowd fist pumping the Addams family at the end.
