I need some advice about Disk System games.

I never had problems with mine, all disks have worked so far except disks that was known to be bad by the previous owner. I guess Jessica didn't configure yours 100% correctly when she repaired it. You could try fiddling with it until most disks works.

They say that if you start rewriting disks with a wrongly configured disk system, all the disks will be wrongly written and only work on your disk system (and other systems that are equally wrongly configured).

I have about 15 of these Roland QuickDisks (5 or 6 of them are Smith Corona), and never figured out how to use them as FDS disks.

The nature of the floppy format is a big downfall of the FDS. 

Then again, I'm one of those guys who don't invest too much on the games and hope when I get the stuff in the mail it works.

Well, my list of games to get for the FCD is only about 27, a fraction of what's still on my list of cartridges. And I don't bother with manuals, just the case and paper folder to keep the disk safe. And some of those games are a higher priority for me than others. Right now I'm dying to play me some Zelda.
