Kit I ordered from retroraiderjapan arrived which I needed for my revision 3 1983 famicom. I got the console decals applied in a matter of minutes last night & I must say the quality is really good. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. The front family computer plate on my old famicom was peeling & dinged up so I pulled it off & underneath there are some voids which I figured would look bad by simply applying the vinyl sticker over so I used heavy cardstock filler cut the same size as original plate for a backing & glued it in place. This console was yellowed so I used dupli-color vinyl spray paint from advance auto parts to give it a few coats of white. I recommend it strongly & over the hydrogen peroxided method for a few reasons. First of all it's much faster & probably easier overall. Second of all don't have to worry about the chemical in the plastic ever making the yellow come back. On top of this all areas are going to be same color. I've vinyl sprayed 2 famicoms this way & I just don't think you could ask for better results. I also ordered the silicon button pads for an additional $5 which I've not tried yet but for the money I figured why not. This famicom is going to be my primary player so putting a bit of $$$ into it & TLC makes me appreciate it all the more. I don't think any better option is out there as far as decals go & these are as close to original as anyone will be able to produce. Hats off to retroraiderjapan for offering these at a reasonable price of $20 shipped for those out there who have a nasty looking beat up famicom that's just begging to be made pretty again.

Looks good! I'm curious to see how the controllers look!

That looks awesome!
One thing that I was curious about, on the site that sells them, it says to put the controller stickers over the current ones. Are they just really thin? what if I wanted to just completely remove the worn ones and put these new ones on? same with the front "Family Computer" long bar sticker, where the voids you had something that's common on all famicoms? or unique to yours? I'm going to be refurbing my system soon (once it arrives) and would rather just replace the decals once I clean up the unit, rather than just apply new over old.

Let me know, I'm super curious

thanks in advance!

Woow! looks Amazing! maybe I should get one of those yellowish Famicoms for a cheap, retrobrite it and use this decals to have a decent refurbished Famicom  ::)
