I am getting near a complete collection of Famicom Disk Games, so I thought it might be time to make a want list to see if anyone has any of these and is willing to sell:

Silviana Pack-In-Video PAC-SIL
Tarot Scorpion Soft SCO-TAR

-=List Updated=-

I guess at this point I should list the Disk Writer Instruction Sheets I am looking for as my Boxed Disk Collection is nearing completion.

I need the following sheets:

Eggerland: Souzouhe no Tabidachi
Super Lode Runner II
Pachicom
Clu Clu Land
Pinball
Xevious
Donkey Kong Jr.
Galaxian
Pac-Man
Tanigawa Kouji no Shogi Shinan II (the Yellow Disk Writer sheet)

Question for you: for Diskwriter Only games, how far are you going with them? I see it as 3 ways to go about it:

1. Game on disk, label doesn't match game or disk is blank, no instructions
2. Game on disk, proper label, no instructions
3. Game on disk, proper label, instructions

Just curious to how you are going about it. I'm looking at as #2, because the manuals generally don't mesh up with the retail games and I'm anal retentive that way. Not a great reason, but it's a reason.  Another question: have you been matching up game codes with the game to the outer box? (I haven't, so much for being anal retentive!)  I have been buying cheapo complete games to harvest outer cases, disk cases, sleeves and disks (if I buy NOS labels) which has been handy - opens up a lot more options if you can piece it together.

Good luck on wrapping it up. It's a fairly easy set to complete, Teachers aside. I will probably wrap up my set down the road (especially because Japan shipping is such a disaster right now) so you won't get much competition from me. Also by your list above, it seems you have VS Clu Clu Land, which is a big hump.

Speaking of the Teachers, if you don't mind, let us know here how you got them and how much you paid when you do. The only time I saw them for sale in the past 18 months was on Yahoo Japan and they weren't even complete.

Well first choice is complete with all match number on the boxed games, but really I will settle for box(label matching or not) and all the original contents.  I would say about 75% of what I have boxed it all numbers matching, and about 10% of those are new sealed never opened.

As to the disk writer games, I love to get the instruction sheets, but that only seems to happen about 35% of the time.  I have been making my own sleeves for in the case and have the Famicom Disk Writer Case and a 3D printed case for all my disk w/ case only games. So I guess #2 is the ninimum for me #1 is not an option.

Tell me about getting the New Old Stock Labels - there are a few I would love to get this for.

Yes - I have Clu Clu Land, and if my orders eventually come in from Japan I will have ALL the Disk Writer Only Games.  There is a Teacher (not the Mario one) on eBay now but the seller wants over 500$US, I will do it but its going to have to be down to the last 2 or 3 games for that to happen.

I will post a photo tomorrow for you of the Disk Writer Only Games, as 2 more are coming in the mail.

I agree with you about the Japan post - Its a nightmare I have almost 1k$US floating around out there!

So as I promised here some photos of the Disk Writer Only collection:

This is how they are stored, some in the Nintendo Disk Writer Kiosk Case and some in the 3D Printed case only holder a friend made for me.

In this photo you can see the case sleeves I made for each of the games, I really did not like that they were disk only.  Also the one Tanigawa Kouji no Shougi Shinan 2 - Shinban Tsume-Shougi Tsugi no Itte [PNF-SH2] I have not figured out how I want to do that one, I will most likely print a sleeve for it and put it in a case also, but for now its in a 3D printed sleeve.  The 3D Sleeves are going to be where I put the Re-Written English Translations once I get a drive that I can use to write with.  Right now I am still getting loose disk for those.

These 4 games are not disk writer games but I only have the game disk in case, some I dont want to whole package (Kiki) and the other till I can find one that is to my liking and a price I am OK with.

this is a photo of the back of the Disk Writer Disk as I got lucky and some of them are neat combos (like, Galaga and Galxain on the same disk)

Yeah, you're like me then. Diskwriter is a pretty unique as far as collecting goes since you can effectively "build" portions of the set from donor parts.

New Old Stock might not be the best term - just unused. Stuff like this:

Oh damn, that's what I get for not searching Nintendo Disk as opposed to Famicom Disk. That price isn't too insane because it's sealed, but still hard to stomach.

Great stuff! Those holders came out really nice. Any chance you can share the image files for the rest of your Diskwriter sleeves? I used a couple of them already, wouldn't mind getting the rest printed out just in case...

Those Yahoo Auctions for the instruction sheet and label are super cool - I have not used Yahoo Auctions, I could almost see couching up the 100$ for that set.

Sorry, I meant to say your printed inserts (like the ones in your intro thread). I've been printing them all out in anticipation of what I might get, if you don't mind sharing the rest, they would be definitely appreciated. I have the PS abilities of a turnip so I couldn't even come close to what you've made.

Yeah, Yahoo Japan sure is dangerous for our wallets! Be careful unless you find someone to buy for you. Proxy fees can add up, you have to be careful on domestic shipping to the proxy (always go the cheapest option) and now these days, everyone is only shipping FedEx/DHL so the shipping is pretty high. It all adds up and can turn a great deal into going rate and going rate into overpriced. However, it's a good second option for FDS considering a good chunk of what's up on eBay has been up for quite some time/recycled as new.

Of Course no problem at all. there is a link to a folder on my WebServer with all the finished ones and I even included the template I use.

impressive. i have no idea how you managed that without yahoo auctions, especially clu clu land. i was two games away from a full disk writer set for years (clu clu land and tanigawa shouji)

are you interested in any manuals for the disk writer releases? i'm willing to sell mine. i'll have to dig them out.

I also have a spare, calibrated write-capable drive i can sell. i hope you're not planning to write over the kiosk-written disks, though.

I was able to get most of the collection from someone in the states that was selling his collection, and I bought the mass of my items from him, the rest was from the higher end sellers on eBay.

I would be interested in some disk writer instructions, I will PM you my email.

I would of bought the drive, but I literally just bought a second backup drive 2 days ago - DOH!

So I updated my list a bit - I have games on the way from Japan but well nothing is actually moving.  I am trying a new place for getting games and handling the transactions and shipping JAUCE, anyone else ever use them?

portnoyd

Never even heard of them. I too have stuff trapped in Japan; two packages are sitting in a post office in Hokkaido for the past two months. Sucks. These days, if they aren't shipping FedEx or DHL, I'm not buying and really, most aren't shipping Japan Post anyway.

Yeah I am really not sure what to do, I had one that must of shipped out just before they locked it down, it sat in US customs for 6 weeks, I finally put a Track & Trace on it with USPS (as it was in NY and under their control) and I was told by USPS that it was customs issue and I should call them but low and behold the next day it was moving in the system, with out me doing anything additional.

I recently order 2 separate packages from the Netherlands and those came in a timely manner, so it just seems to be Japan (Asia) right now that are the issue, I have to say it seems stupid though, I understand the planes are not flying - but just fly planes for the packages!  The Japan sellers are really hurting because of this I have received Email from a few telling me so.

I am at a real impasse with my collection - I have got some refunds from sellers in Japan, and I can go buy the stuff from someone that will sell it and ship it via DHL, but is that other stuff going to show up?  Then they will either want me to pay for it or return it, and I dont want to pay for the return shipping.

Example:  I had one seller that I bought two games from for about 150$ provide shipping info and the system shows that it was received by the Japan post, but I never got it, I asked for a refund which I received, BUT the seller then relisted the items? So did they ship them to begin with what happen?

With Jauce, I think I am going to finish up buying the items I already purchased and be done with them as they are Dollar and Yen'ing me to death with transaction fees, so I can not really suggest them.

Its a shitty time to be collector of import games - I dont know what to do, maybe just put the collection on hold.

New collector of FDS games, and I have to agree.  It's a pretty awful time to collect right now if it's import games.

I had 4 packages tied up in the Japan Post, but two of them finally shipped recently.  Still waiting on the last two, but it does look like if you placed some sort of order at least before April 20th with EMS shipping, they'll eventually ship the packages -- seems they are working through the backlogs in their storehouses before they take a break for a couple of months.  As I live in NY, once the packages makes it to the US it's a relative easy path from there to my house (and most other US destinations).

Once I get my last two packages, I'm gonna take a bit of a break and see if they situation gets better by the end of July.

c0op3r

I actually got some movement on one of the 5 packages that I ordered marked as in a pouch as or May19th.

So at least one seems to have seen some action - unfortunately I no longer need that one as I bought a LOT of 2 games and it was repeated in that lot, Doh!
