Hello!

I just joined this forum, so I hope I'm posting into the right board. A couple of days ago I bought a boxed Famicom from a nintendo collector who used to work at Bienengräber (Nintendo distributor for Germany/Austria) off of eBay. Today it arrived and when I opened it, I realised something was off. The Console itself was still wrapped in plastic (as shown in the eBay Listing). The first thing that told me that something was off, was the missing Nintendo logos (even on the Box) and that the Decals on the console were in english. The console also has an AV out (doesn't look like someone modded that in later), the controllers hate weird switches on them and the 2nd one is missing the mic etc.
I've also opened the console and the insides look off as well. I've made some pictures as well (http://imgur.com/a/bJpbcg2). I'm pretty sure it's fake, but I've never seen such a close fake console, can someone give me their opinion?

Yes, it's fake, but that's alright. You should be happy. Really. That is a VERY beautiful Famiclone!

Thank you for the info, but I may return it, because I just want a boxed famicom for display purpose (and I paid 70€ for it). Do you know if these clones are rare?

And I think it's pretty funny, that I got a fake nintendo console, from the former Nintendo Distributor for Austria.

This indeed looks fake - I have a spare, legitimate Famicom console that I could send you though, if you wanted to do a straight trade?  Bit cheeky of that seller, surely they knew?

Looks like they've just put a clone console in a real box.

Do not return this! it is much rarer and valued then the real Famicom! This is an early Famiclone in the late 80's with very quality parts and plastic even have turbo functions for the buttons and AV out of the box and socketed CPU, PPU and RAM chips  for easy replacement fantastic! :) can you please show us a pictures to see the video quality is it better then real deal or even better show us a video with a game footage to hear sound as well from AV and RF respectively :) ? just buy another real one , they are very cheap actually :) I got mine for 25$ :)  but ofcource for boxed one in decent shape it will be much more! But still , keep this famiclone!

Wow you have to consider you a very lucky guy, that is an Aaronix 1988 famiclone made in Taiwan.

Probably one of the rarest early famiclones you can get outside of Asia.
